Anyway, not very. If he praises something I'll definitely check it out, but everything else I either don't consider or take very generally.

He has an opinion and a very strong one, I can respect that.
But I dont think of his videos so much as reviews but more like going to the pub with a mate and listening to him rant about latest game he tried. A mate with extremely different tastes to me.

The guy might not share my tastes (and this is why yahtzee neighing or booing a game means little to me, if I like a game he bashes im not gonna be "omg he is right! how can i be enjoying this" but more like "teehee its funny cos its true") and can get some funny perspectives on games I like, but have yet to change my buying habits based on his reviews, there is only 1 reviewer on the net with that kinda power on me (and thats because we share tastes to the point that the reviewer likes a game, its 95% likely I'll like it too).

So yeh, his words amuse me but have yet to sway me.

I listen to about half of what he says. I realize that he is more focused on Single Player games and only focuses on the criticisms.

While that is nice for advancing the medium and all, I'm not going to be taking what he says to heart when I choose to purchase a game because I already know what it is I'm usually looking for in a game.

I just don't see why people spit fire whenever someone spouts a different opinion. It's an opinion. It is inside another person's head. It doesn't affect you. Completely bewilders me.
Especially when it's opinions about computer games. I can understand for issues such as taxation or abortion where the stakes actually matter. But computer games? Really? You want to fight over whether Skyward Sword should score 8.5 or 9.5?

We all know Yahtzee, the man behind Zero Punctuation. His views are the hot topic of many conversations, mainly due to how harsh he is on games. We all know that it is his opinion, but it IS meant to be listened to and taken into consideration. So I ask of you, how seriously do you take it? Personally I watch the show purely for the laughs and completly block out his arguments when I buy games, but what about you?
Look, buddy. Use the damn search bar. This question is asked monthly and the answer is always the same. He takes real flaws from games and blows them out of proportion for comedic effect. Nobody takes Zero Punctuation seriously.

I take half of what he says seriously and the other half with liberal pinches of salt because, at the end of the day, he's out to make a few laughs and because he's own tastes and opinions are obviously different to my own.

If I took every one of his reviews seriously and bought games based on his opinion. I would probably own about 3 lol.

I watch mainly for the comedy value but when I want serious reviews I usually head over to other indie sites like Blistered thumbs or something.

I still watch every week and more than once certain aspects of a game he points out are true and other times I can't see the problem so who knows. It is all down to the individual's taste I guess.

In my opinion, if Yahtzee says a game is good. That means it's awesome. Many games he doesn't like i do like, so i don't take it really seriously.

I just watch it for the jokes. If i took him seriously then my game library would only have portal, portal 2 and painkiller, i do own these games tho.

I thought it was to entertain.

I love watching him dissect games mercilessly, whether I like or hate the games. But while he does have a point or two, I take him almost exclusively as entertainment rather than criticism.

I don't think he's bad or wrong, but I don't weight "your mum" jokes very highly on my "consideration" scale.

I think he's a good critic by all means, but his job is to find even the tiniest flaws in a game and exaggerate them for the viewers amusement aswell, which is why I never take what he says to heart.

So far, he has only praised games that I already had at the moment of watching, so I don't care a feather or a fig about those. I watch these purely for entertainment.

The rest, I listen to tell-tale signs as to whether he truly despises a game, or actually thinks it's worth trying - but to not expect a great game.

But mostly, I watch him for the entertainment, which is substantial.

I'd say I take him pretty seriously, he tends to point out flaws that other reviews gloss over.
And yeah he may pour on the bile but I just find that hilarious.

as much as most of the things he says is for comedy, if you read between the lines you can find truth in what he says. although, it is very likely hes exaggerating it again for comedy.

I take what he says with a grain of salt, and most importantly, laugh.
I don't think anyone should expect anything more.

I don't take his videos as reviews but rather as opinions, as I consider games only by my opinion

so yeah =P
