purely on a business level, do you think Microsoft will find themselves regretting the current situation once the console is released?

I just don't think people understand how badly wrong this WILL go, with government and other organisations simply giving themselves free reign to monitor anything plugged into your internet connection.

people do ambiguous things all the time, if they see gamers screaming about their neighbors being drug lords and guns and see anything that remotely fits that description you're going to have 'xbox gets neighbours shot in police raid' as a news title it's going to happen, just wait.

I have no idea how well it'll sell. People on the internet claim that they'll be boycotting the product, but we know how often people actually follow through with that. With no accurate assessment of consumer interest there is no way to predict how well it'll sell. If I was to make a prediction based on how popular it is on the internet, then I'll have to say less than fifty consoles, but we all know that is impossible to sell so few.
