So... let's pretend all those crazy nutcases who thinks the world is going to end one year from now are right. Would would be the cause?

How about masses of Internet forum traffic boringly speculating about the likelihood of 2012 eventuating slowing down cyberspace to a crawl, creating a complete global computer shutdown? If we can stop talking about it by that point maybe we can avoid catastrophe, that would be really nice.
