I'm going to vote yes to be cool and different, and ironically proceed to cook my delicious chicken breasts!

So, you rub it in garlic, thyme and some black pepper (possibly some chilli, but I prefer to add that later, I like it fresh, not fried),[footnote]Of course, spices and herbs are always subject to preference; these are merely my suggestions.[/footnote] heat the frying-pan to the highest possible temperature, and then brush it with a light coat of olive oil. Wait until the oil is is as hot as possible without burning, and throw in the steak. As soon as the one side is ready, flip the steak. In this way, all juices are sealed as quickly as possible. If you do not prefer it raw, turn down heat (roughly medium), and fry it until it's as you like it. The best way to see if it's according to your preference is to poke it with a fork or make a small cut in it. If you like it raw as I do,[footnote]I prefer it bloody.[/footnote] remove it shortly after all sides are thoroughly browned.
My personal preference is a green salad, baked potatoes (pm for recommendations for fillings, but if you want it simple, garlic butter is never wrong here), and a Guinness (but a brown ale or IPA will do nicely; a light lager will often not work as well here; there are exceptions, but selecting beers to a meal is far more complex than selecting wines).

...

I'm sorry, what's the question?
That sounds bloody delicious, and I'm going to totally try that the next time I have steak.

Mmm....steak....

I really, really love steak, and I'm wondering if I'm a terrible person for taking great joy in ingesting dead cow.
Did you actually and seriously wonder this? Because truthfully this is a silly question.

I enjoy an occasional cigar and some wine with it, maybe some pasta too. That doesn't mean anything about me other than that I do that. Just like you eating steak means you eat steak. It doesn't affect you just like people who don't approve of it aren't bad people either.

This is a silly thread.

Humans have the forward facing eyes of a predator, and sharp incisors for cutting meat. so why feel bad for something we are designed to do?

Without the complex proteins of fishies and meats our brains would never have developed, anyone that say meat is evil or your bad person for eating animals, just tell them to study evolution and brain formation and let them see that eating grass and leaves might get you thru the day but you would still be eating lice out of your fur. those complex proteins are amazing things, how how they kick start brain evolution, especially when you eat fishes.
plus this ^

Hey, it's better than Veal...actually...veal is a lot more tender...and arguably better...Man, I could really go for some veal now...anyway, no. You are not a bad person for eating cow.

Yes. You are an absolute monster for loving steak.
With each bite of a steak you must know that there was a poor sentient creature that was painfully thinking of how it was never going to see its beloved family again before it was brutally slaughtered with a tear in its eye. Drenched in blood and senselessly taken from this world purely because the bastards of humanity decided to consume its flesh for their own selfish desires.

And that's what makes it taste all the sweeter!

Nothing beats a nice thick medium rare steak with huge chips, grilled mushrooms and HP's brown sauce.

Steak is the best use of dead cows. There can be no higher honour.

I voted yes, because I think you are a bad person for other reasons. There's hope though! Learn to think for yourself and stop being a chucklehead.

Obvious shitstorm-instigation-attempting thread is obvious.
I'm a vegetarian, but I don't tell other people to do the same thing. They're my morales, not yours.

I work in the meat department of a supermarket, so I think steak lovers are the greatest people on Earth. Thank you, and enjoy your steak, sir.

Well, I realize you are being deliberately crass, but still...

Actually, animals aren't humans from any point of view.
Homo Sapiens belongs in the biological kindom Animalia. So biologically, we are classified as animals.

Spartan1362 said:
Killing them without needing too is perfectly fine if you want to.
Y'know, so long as it's done in a humane manner and whatnot.

No. Most people will let insects and the like pass, but when we come to mammals, who are irrefutably able to feel pain, distress, suffering, you do NOT have a $deity-given right to kill them without need.

Spartan1362 said:
Eating meat harms no person, thus is not in violation of any philosophical rule I've heard of.
You haven't heard many philosophical rules then.

Spartan1362 said:
Sure it can work, but it isn't easy for your everyday person, especially your everyday poor, hardworking person, when meat is cheap and effective.
Your post is exactly the reason that vegans come off as elitist.
Don't know where you come from, but where I live, meat tends to be more expensive per kilo then vegetables and most fruits.
Nice touch with the hardworking person, it must have itched you to write 'American'. You rhetoric sounds stereotypical right-winged. As with most people on FOX News, I can't tell whether you're trolling, being cynical or serious.

Spartan1362 said:
You're actually better off being either a fish eater, a vegitarian, or an occasional meat eater, as veganism and regular meat eaters have the highest mortality rate, although it was mentioned that the vegitarianism score was due primarily to low smoking rates.
There is no scientific consensus about any of this (yet).

Spartan1362 said:
You can really go either way, as long as you don't go around making others feel guilty.
What a lame argument. A lot of things have made people "feel guilty" at some point or another. One of the many reasons for the American Civil War was people not wanting to feel guilty for owning slaves.

Are you sporting that attitude when you see thugs break into a car or molest a young girl?

Are you seriously comparing eating steak to child molestation?
