It's a stigma that many people have. If I'm playing a game online and I see a girl join, I myself am often surprised. I don't treat them different, mind you, but I'm still surprised when it happens.
But I think that has more to do with the rarity of the event, not the idea that girls don't or can't play games. They certainly can and do, but let's be honest here: It's a male dominated past-time. Girl are getting more and more involved in gaming, that's true, but no matter how you spin the numbers, I think it's obvious they are in the minority.
this^. I treat girl gamers just like I do guy gamers, and will not go easy on them, especially since they want to be equal to men. I don't really feel different when a girl is in the room, in fact I feel happier, especially if they yell as much as I do when I'm getting owned. Unfortunately I haven't had the luxury of having a gamer girlfriend. Someday, maybe....Jedoro said:A player's a player to me.
That being said, a good player is a good player, and a bad player pisses me off.
as i am one(a guy , not a female character) , I feel thatit's perfictly normal. My char in DnD is even a woman. It let's me adopt a differnt mindset, which is what roleplaying is all about.and in video games, it only an avatar. a bunch of pixels with boobs.I just can' see the issueDazza5897922 said:How do you guys feel about guys that play as female characters?
It will be my greatest test. I'll have to gather all my wits and...in...telligence?Osloq said:No mercy, WOOP HER ASS!!! I'd probably just say at the outset that you're a good player and if she wants you can use some bogus weapon. Apart from that there's nothing much you can do. Letting someone win can be fairly demeaning and if she catches on she'll either think it's adorable (probably not) or find it offensive (more likely). Good luck with it anyway.
This is exactly what the girls in my Games Design Class think when playing games. Wonder if all Girl gamers think like that.Kiutu said:Its ok for you to think that. Makes your reaction when I beat you more fun.

Asking her out was the best decision I ever made.
Nope. In fact, a young girl (around 17-20? I don't know) playing video games is actually a big turn on for alot of guys.MercurySteam said:*SNIP*
