I'd say anything but the .50 cal.

Seriously, that's a little...overpowered, not to mention expensive. Also, if you hunt, the Barret is a lot heavier, therefor harder to carry and run around with.
you don't hunt with a .50 cal
first off its not legal in most states to hunt with any rifle bigger than .30'06, i know in Massachusetts its not legal to hunt with a rifle bigger than a .22 so to do any real hunting you need to use a 20 or 12 gauge and as we all know slugs arn't exactly accurate.
Massachusetts is fucking stupid. .22 are too small to hunt big games. In fact pro hunt states ban them because it is inhuman (for big games).

Lots of people hunt with .50 caliber it called black powder rifle.
Simple, get a headshot (I know this is a terrible method of hunting but god damn does it make it more thrilling)

I have a custom made .50 BMG rifle that weights in at 47 pounds. It cost me $3000. My wallet goes "Why are you doing this to me?" every time I fire a $7.50 round. I would add a pic but I am not at home.
Dang $7.50 a round. I might go with the Bravo51 just so I do not go to the poor house every time I go to the range. (but I bet it fires like a dream)
Look if you don't know how much ammo cost than I suggest you do a lot more research and lean how to shoot. All you are doing is wasting good money that could otherwise be use for training.

An expensive rifle won't make you a good shooter. There is a lot more than pulling the trigger.

When I was young I spent three to four days a week at the range shooting between 25 to 1000 yards. I spent a lot of money and a lot of time. I learn how to reload to save cost on match grade ammo. Current match grade ammo can cost over $50 for a box of 20 in 308. So you better learn how to reload.

If you're not interested in shooting .22lr as a training vehicle than your next step is .223. They are much more expensive than .22lr but cost much less than .308.

Savage makes very good rifle for a decent price, around $500 retail. Check out the 10FP in .223. They are capable of 1 MOA or less at 100 yards. Buy videos, take classes, and learn how to reload.

Apparently you never hunt before.

Why would you ever need a sniper rifle?

I sense a public tragedy coming on...
All rifles are sniper rifles. That's just facts.

To be honest no I have not, but I have fired many kinds of rifles, as I said before, I know its bloody hard to get a headshot, especially at the range you would be to avoid spooking the deer/elk/GRIZZLY BEAR RAWR/whatever.

People buy .50 cal because they can. It's called the 2nd Amendment.

You can get a .50 cal in Kansas?

Jesus christ.

Those things are for taking down light armour!

Go with the Bravo. It's cheaper, and NATO rounds are cheap and easy to get. Plus, what on earth could you possibly need an anti-materiel sniper rifle for?
The Barrett has a practical range of 1 mile with a skilled sniper going too 2 miles. I just like the idea of taking out a vehicle at range.

But I am leaning towards the Bravo51 because of price.
I know you like the idea of it but why do you want one of these? I highly doubt the guy driving in front of is that slow that an anti material sniper is justified. Just to clarify. If its to look cool the Barrett. If for some reason you intend to murder people from a long way away or hit the ranges dont get the Barrett. Its like going duck hunting with mutated anthrax.

I always thought you couldn't get Barrett due to all those stupid fucks firing from the hip and killing themselves. But as for your question, please don't buy a gun, down here in Australia we go just fine without your strange need to bear arms.

Tell me when was the last time a Barrett or any .50BMG rifle was used to murder someone in the USA(non-military)? You know why criminals don't used Barrett and other similar rifles? Because they cost a lot, very big, and very heavy.

"what should I get?"

A combination of anger managment and depersonalization disorder counseling.

Just to be safe.

No reason to own one. I mean really? a .50 cal is a bad idea, your asking a bunch of gamers about buying guns, thats a bad idea and you live in kansas which as i see now is a very bad idea because breathing all that fresh air has made you straight jacket wearing bonkers.

Get back on your meds (or start taking some), and go play xbox. But if your still feeling crazy afterwards, walmart has a nice selection of nerf guns that i think will be perfect for someone of your mental condition.

I'd go for the cheap one. You don't want the ammo to cost so much that it discourages you from going to the range.

Well, if you're only choosing from those two, I'd go for the Bravo.

The M82 just looks a little over-compensatory, if you know what I mean.

But what do I know? The closest I've been to a real sniper rifle was my friend's airsoft guns.
But I won't let anyone change my opinion that the SVD is an awesomepretty weapon.

That's not how things work in real life.

Bravo 51 hands down. A civi doesn't need a 50 cal rifle, except that it would be great fun to fire :p

Also, the 7.62x51mm round is far cheaper than the .50 cal round
