Ok, here we go.

my friend and i were playing zombies(black ops) on ps3 a few minutes ago. We had mics, the other two players in the game didnt(and they were guests), but they were HORRIBLE. But the two of us were having fun, messing around, joking, and occasionally raging at the other two players for constantly dying. Then all of a sudden they just start standing still. They die, then both have mics and then both of us hear, "what the hell is wrong with you!? your playing with six year old kids!". -wait what-" We are reporting you to playstation for you language!"

Now we obviously thought it was two people trolling, after all what kind of parents would let their 6 year old children play a mature rated game, then get angry and try to censor the other players because they are "corrupting their children".(it even sais online interactions are not rated by the esrb)

But, then, i hear"Mommmy we want to play!" and then "not right now baby, were taking care of something."

And then an argument ensued. I was infuriated.

my head still isnt clear, so i apologize for the quality of this post, ill elaborate more during the discussion :p

One more thing, im not for any kind of censorship, i just dont understand how someone could be so stupid. One of their final statements were, "you cant use expletives on the internet"

I think its dumb that they let the kids play the game in the first place. Censorship of blood and violence when they are young children is fine. Yes, the parents were wrong in letting them play. But, I also think, if they were not scared by the blood and the gore, they should be able to play the game.

*Sigh

-Dont buy your children a game you dont think is suitable.
-If you do, Dont blame the game or anyone on it for offending your child.
-Learn to be a better parent.

Gotta love parents. Let their kids play games where your blowing up and dismembering people, but any game that shows a bit of nudity or swearing and their up in arms.

How were both of them guests?

OT: "Sure it's OK for our kids to play this game featuring graphic dismemberment with jets of blood spraying out of several severed stumps but God forbid they hear a few 'cuss words'".

Any parent who will unknowingly let their child play a more mature videogame is a FUCKING IDIOT and a bad parent to boot.

It's their fucking job as a parent to monitor and regulate this kind of activity in the same way you would a film.

I don't play much online, but I'm assuming it's possible to disable incoming mic chatter if you want. Couldn't parents just do that?

As a side note, I think it's pretty hilarious that the mother apparently thinks hearing vulgar language will "corrupt" her children more than participating in a realistic combat game.

Chalk this one up to bad parenting on account of having no idea what your kindergarten child is *actually* spending his time doing.

*twitch twitch* If they didn't want their kids to hear swear words then don't let them play an m rated game which you can hear swearwords during the story line.

This story is funny, and yes, is an an example of idiotic parents. A bit of Deja Vu though, this is my story posted on a thread yesterday of stupid parents, put in a spoiler box for convenience:

It was me and one other friend in the lobby, with lots of other random people without mics. There were two other people with mics though, and they were a little girl (I would say around about 5-6 years old) and (I assumed) her dad, who sounded mid twenties. Now as we were in game I was just casually chatting with my mate, and I swore at him, nothing serious, right? Apparently so to the father of the child who he was letting play on a game with the age rating of 18, with lots of blood, gore, and, you guessed, swearing. Out of the blue he went into a full on rant about how I shouldn't be swearing, because I was in the presence of his little daughter. Now to be quite blunt, I didn't give a shit about what he said, and ultimately ignored him and just kept on chatting to my friend as I muted him and his daughter. What confused me, was the fact that he was letting his own daughter, play on this type of game, but expected other people to abide by his rules, of keeping the language down to a minimum. This annoyed me to a great extent but in the end nothing came of it, and I just carried on as normal.

What I would like to know (if you have made it this far) is how you would have reacted to this, and if you thought I was right or not.

In my opinion both stories are both as stupid and funny as each other :)

Har har har. Ugh...

I just want to punch the parents. For crying out loud, I get it, video games have blood, gore and sex in it, and it's very inappropriate for kids, blah blah blah. Now if you could just realise this as well before you buy the fucking games for your 6 year old then everything would maybe be better for you over-sensitive people.
It's YOUR responsibility too, damnit. Grow a damn brain, for christs sake.
