Ok, here we go.

my friend and i were playing zombies(black ops) on ps3 a few minutes ago. We had mics, the other two players in the game didnt(and they were guests), but they were HORRIBLE. But the two of us were having fun, messing around, joking, and occasionally raging at the other two players for constantly dying. Then all of a sudden they just start standing still. They die, then both have mics and then both of us hear, "what the hell is wrong with you!? your playing with six year old kids!". -wait what-" We are reporting you to playstation for you language!"

Now we obviously thought it was two people trolling, after all what kind of parents would let their 6 year old children play a mature rated game, then get angry and try to censor the other players because they are "corrupting their children".(it even sais online interactions are not rated by the esrb)

But, then, i hear"Mommmy we want to play!" and then "not right now baby, were taking care of something."

And then an argument ensued. I was infuriated.

my head still isnt clear, so i apologize for the quality of this post, ill elaborate more during the discussion :p

One more thing, im not for any kind of censorship, i just dont understand how someone could be so stupid. One of their final statements were, "you cant use expletives on the internet"
This story is funny, and yes, is an an example of idiotic parents. A bit of Deja Vu though, this is my story posted on a thread yesterday of stupid parents, put in a spoiler box for convenience:

It was me and one other friend in the lobby, with lots of other random people without mics. There were two other people with mics though, and they were a little girl (I would say around about 5-6 years old) and (I assumed) her dad, who sounded mid twenties. Now as we were in game I was just casually chatting with my mate, and I swore at him, nothing serious, right? Apparently so to the father of the child who he was letting play on a game with the age rating of 18, with lots of blood, gore, and, you guessed, swearing. Out of the blue he went into a full on rant about how I shouldn't be swearing, because I was in the presence of his little daughter. Now to be quite blunt, I didn't give a shit about what he said, and ultimately ignored him and just kept on chatting to my friend as I muted him and his daughter. What confused me, was the fact that he was letting his own daughter, play on this type of game, but expected other people to abide by his rules, of keeping the language down to a minimum. This annoyed me to a great extent but in the end nothing came of it, and I just carried on as normal.

What I would like to know (if you have made it this far) is how you would have reacted to this, and if you thought I was right or not.

In my opinion both stories are both as stupid and funny as each other :)

Well fuck that!

And the ERSB/OFLC/etc. ratings ALWAYS say that the game content and experience can change online, and as such it is up to the consumer to keep that in mind with them.

Seriosuly, don't parents notice the giant 18 on the box?

Fucking moron parents are the reason that I hate the youth of today, and I'm only 23 years old!

I'm sorry, but this must be posted...

What kind of idiot DOES that!? It's a gory FPS full of grit and 'realism' that I child really SHOULDN'T be playing. Are they TRYING to be retarded!? Because they're well on your way to licking your husband/significant others shoes and eating paste. I don't care if it was their only goddamn wish for their life or whatever excused they used. READ THE RATING! That's what they're there for...

Sorry, topics like these get me going...again, apologies for rage.

I don't think they're idiots for letting their kids play an M rated game. Honestly, I've been watching violent films and playing violent games since I was little, my parents never really minded. Hell, I watched the South Park film when I was four feet high, and it never fucked me up. However, my parents knew exactly what I was watching, playing, etc.

Now that we've got that out of the way, I do think that the behaviour described is incredibly idiotic, deciding that intense violence is perfectly fine in a game, but fuck shit **** bollocks is horrendous.

Wait, so they're going to call Playstation and say that during a zombie-mode game of Call of Duty: Black Ops (rated mature of course) they were offended because someone used a bit of mild language around a few six-year-olds who were playing the game at the time. If anything someone should report THEM to child services. I mean really, who in their right mind would let small children play a mature game and then complain about foul language?

Idiot parents are idiots. The main problem with younger kids today is that their parents are either not around to monitor them, or just don't give a damn. It's pretty sad when you think about it.

Idiots plain and simple. They don't know anything about the game and rating yet they are quick to put the blame on others. That's exactly what's going on all over the world. Parents don't take responsibility for raising their kids. Everything bad their kids pick up is someone else's fault.

Thats just how it is these days parents are just servants to their kids. I mean when i was kid back in the N64 days if I wanted a mature game I was SOL cause my mom would look at teh ratings and deny me anything that was above T. Now all they hear is want this i want that and then just give it to them just to make them shut up. Then they get the nerve to claim games are corrupting their children and that games are sadistic. I actually knew a family that gave their elementary school son Manhunt for his birthday. WTF?!?

Ahahaha same here man.

Yeah, we dont usually get this level of stupidity on the pc as all of the little retard kiddies are playing on their roflbox360. That was funny as hell though, made my day.

Oh yeah, those parents are stupid as well, thats very hypocritical of them.

Every time we warn the parents at our store they don't give a rat's ass. I hope the kids grow up and shoot them.
