Given that he vehemently labels everyone who disagrees with him as a "Christian" like it's a swearword, he most definitely would wipe it out in any way he could.
You are full of crap.

You've never read any of his books, and you don't have a clue as to his stance.
I've watched his TV shows, he has borderline disgust for people who believe in God (any God). He continues to crusade for atheism as if religion is a terrible force for evil in the UK, when the fact of the matter is that religion is all but dead in the UK. He's an arrogant ass with an inferiority complex who believes wholeheartedly that he's more intelligent than pretty much everyone he meets.

I've read much about Richard Dawkins, and I've concluded he's not worth the wasted time (not to me anyway).

Did I ever claim that his beliefs where traditional-anything?
The quote you used vastly overstates the value he put on religion just to help prove your point and is very similar to all the people who try to show that he was religious.

As bringer of illumination already stated science improves the quality of life on earth, religion divides can hold no such claim. The best religion can hope to do is provide a false sense of peace, hope, ect.

I used that quote because I felt that it was something wise to think about. I could have quoted the whole thing but that's something like 300 words. However, I don't need to justifice my self to you.

As for your other paragraph, I know what he wrote, believe me. Other than that you are straight out lying. Religon can do so much more then that, things I have seen, heard and read are there to prove it. If you really think religon is all about giving those false hopes, then I suggest you leave your computer and go out and take a good look at the world because if you excuse me, I don't believe you have seen enough of it.

You are drawing conclusions that he has disgust without fact to back them. As far as him believing that he is more intelligent than most people is because he probably is. He is a leader in the field of biology, he has several best selling books, and he is a world renown scientist and front man for logic. If you want to see him talk on the same level as someone watch his discussions with Lawrence Krauss (who is amazing btw).

You're right religion also leads to ignorance, bigotry, hate, genocide, war and many other atrocities.

If you are trying to say that religion gets people to donate time/money that is BS, nonreligious donate too.

I'd recommend you read this deconstruction of "The God Delusion" (by an atheist) and how it fails as a book.

This country has separation of church and state EXACTLY for this reason, and none other. Our founding fathers were smart as hell and clairvoyant, seeing this eventuality long ago.
They were worried that jesus would return and run for president?

(Sorry couldn't resist)

OT: Applying this to the UK erm.... JC as the PM.... Yeah why not. Better than voting for the Conservatives. The Lib Dems will never get into power despite (IMO) being the best all rounder and screw Labour.

Jesus was:

All about helping the poor and the sick

In favor of rehabilitation of criminals over punishment

A pacifist

Never actually said anything about gays. That was Paul.
He just said not to judge people.

So, yeah, definitely.

You might want to double check your bible, the whole hate and murdering people thing was old testament.
You might want to check your bible,

"Not One Jot Or Tittle Will Pass Away From the Law Till All Is Fulfilled" - Matthew 5:17-18

As far as JC is concerned the old testament still applies.
So I assume you stone rape victims?
Or do you just force the victim to marry the attacker?
No, because I don't get my morality from bronze age texts.

Jesus advised selling everything you have and following him. Specifically: "Sell everything you have and give the money to the destitute, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come back and follow me." (Luke 18:22).
I think I like my material wealth too much to support this level of communism. Unless, of course, it's the usual argument and that's not what he really said, or it is but it's not what he meant and I can actually keep all my stuff and still totally follow the Bible and Jesus' words without any problems.

Yes, they looked into their crystal balls and saw him return in a flash of light and beat Obama with his Jesus Fung Fu and take the Crown.

This is why Jesus sent a robot back in time to killing John Connor Thomas Jefferson.
Presidents where crowns? AWESOME!

Our only choice is to send Robot Lincoln back to preserve the past!

No...I believe too strongly in secularism. Religion corrupts the state and the state corrupts religion.

Still...if we were to cut out the Old Testament and scrape that into the dustbin, I might be tempted.
So did Jesus though... he didn't want to start a religion, he just uncovered the corruption in Judaism.

OT: Yes, think of the wine

Yes.

By the way, Jesus never said gays are bad. Ever. Once. And he often implied that he has an opposite view on them.
Greed is punished worse in the bible then homosexuality
