It has some of the better turn based combat I've seen. I loved the way Persona's 3 and 4 handled the usually droll concept of "elemental rock-paper-scissors".
I love me some quality real-time combat in RPGs, but Persona was simply not made with that in mind.
I mean, how would summoning a persona to cast spells in real-time even work? It would seem extremely odd to me, if my main source of real-time input was levied to a third party entity rather than the character who's movements I control. Keeping it turn-based completely eliminates such a problem and allows us to keep using personas.
