Morrowind was much better than skyrim in every way except the mechanics .
It had better a better world . Skyrim feels like your exploring the arctic rather than exploring a truly bizarre and unknown world filled with flying weird tentacled flying creatures , while listening to the locals teasing you for being a outsider . It had much more quests , MORE DIALOGUE rather than a few lines . Ever npc was able to talk to you about many things even though most of the time the response was same , it did add a sense of immersion AND best of all was that it didnt hold your hand . The world didnt scale with you nor were there quest markers everywhere , the puzzles were great as well as the environments like giant mushrooms , deserts , floating prisons , much better characters . Did i mention that you could go on killing sprees and completely ruin the main quest while still being able to keep playing ? It added a sense of immersion that skyrim did not add .
