Poll: If someone walked into your room, could they tell that you are a gamer?

Well, yeah someone could. It's a basement so I'm already kicking off the stereotype strong. I have a big-ish particle board entertainment center with a 24 inch(?) standard definition television. the shelves along the sides of the TV house:

Right: (same shelf setup, a few in a cabinet and the top at waist height.)
On top: Playstation 2
second from top: Movies, Playstation 2 games
third/floor: PC parts (old), wires for different things

there is a long shelf under the TV that I put my usable controllers. I have the map of Skyrim folded up on the nightstand next to my bed. I was to lazy to flatten and hang it. I don't have many gaming things because I've never bought a special edition of a game or went to a convention. I'd like to get some posters but they don't hang well on my walls. Only a few more years in my room though.

EDIT: I forgot to mention the brick of GameInformer magazines that I have. It's a nice archive of more recent issues. All my old GamePros got thrown out.

I do have a Wii, a Wii Fit Plus, and a broken PS2 lying around...I also have a gaming headset somewhere in my room that an ex gave me as a birthday present, so my answer would be, "Yes".

No, my room consists of my new dresser and nightstand, Tiffany lamp and bed with light pink floral fluffy bedspread, and a giant mirror. It's a new apartment with new furniture, so all I have for decoration right now is a few of my cat statues I collect and wooden shoes I used to put out for St. Nicholas Day. I like games as much as the next person, but I don't think it's exactly a statement I want to make with my home decor. 0:

Nope, not at all. I've got my gaming laptop in my bedroom at my desk but you could easily assume that's for work or whatever else. I've got flags, framed pictures and my degree on my walls. I've never really cared to own physical paraphernalia from video games, digital content is all that interests me.

My living room, on the other hand, might tip off visitors. My 360 and PS3 on the TV stand, the controllers on the coffee table and both sets of games on the shelving unit.

I'd say maybe. The only things I have in my bedroom that hint to playing video games are my Majora's Mask drawing and my Mario Party 9 poster. They'd probably ask if I ever played Mario Party 9, which would have an honest answer of no. Then it would be up to them to know that the drawing came out of a video game.

There's almost nothing game-related in my room (I don't leave game discs lying around), but one look at my computer should be enough of a hint that I'm a gamer

They'd certainly wonder how so much clutter fits into one room. Depends where they look, I have shelves of DVDs and next to that I have a few shelves of games too, so maybe. But since the console is on the floor and as I said, my room is a mess, they might not see it.

Inside however there is only a laptop, a few Warhammer posters, a New Vegas poster and a map of Skyrim.

Surprisingly, no. There's nothing in my room that even hints at any of my hobbies. That's due to cleanliness, probably.

Although, I do have a whole room devoted to my games as a second living room. So there's that.

My xbox, lapotop and games are all located in the living room with the bean bag positioned in front of the tv for playing. My room has random game toys, a stuffed link, moogle and chocobo, murlocs. Mass Effect hoodies, game related tshirts on the bed other random game junk if you could recognise it, it also has lots of hello kitty toys and books and so many shoes.

Mainly I think the main thing you would pick up is I'm very messy and don't actually sleep in there as the bed is covered in clothes. Awesome once you move out from the parents and get to keep stuff everywhere.

My room as in "my bedroom?" No. It's littered with a few shirts, a dress, my graduation gown, and a variety of books and papers. My decor consists of a few stuffed animals (Curious George and the Lorax), some quotes posted on a board, and a framed poster of London. People'd be able to guess that I was a reading fanatic, perhaps, but not that I was a gamer.

As for my room as in "my apartment as a whole," then yes. I've got a PS2, GameCube, Xbox, and Xbox 360 residing on my mini-entertainment center, just beneath my TV, and my living room bookshelf has an equal amount of space devoted to games as it does to books.

All my gaming stuff is either in my living room, in my closet or behind a big stack of CDs on my shelf. All my posters are music or just random prints. I have a stack of PC games, but again, behind CDs. If anything, you'd get the music vibe far before you'd get any gamer vibe.

I would say probably if they look under my TV and see my PS2, Xbox 360, and games for those consoles on the stand. Also if they look to the right they could see my Wii (wow that sounded more preferred than I mention it to) and all my games on a stand across from my pesk which has a few PC games on it. The only thing my room is really missing are some statues (hope to fix that soon, hoping to get a Big Daddy for my desk) and some posters (which I am unable to put up because my walls are only about four feet tall before they start slanting towards my ceiling)

Probably not, because besides my Xbox 360 and stack of games next to my T.V., my room is mostly dominated by my Guitars, Amps, Keyboard, Bass, and misc. recording equipment. Which coupled with my posters from the 30th anniversary release of Dark Side of the Moon, my Joe Strummer calendar, and my framed London Calling and previously mentioned Dark Side of the Moon albums; makes me out to be more a music person.

Now if they were to look in my secret sanctuary--code word for den--that would be a different story.

Yeah, unless they were blind I suppose. Or instead of looking at the two video game things listed above, There's also an Xbox below my TV and 6 game boxes next to it. Anywhere else in my house however, you wouldn't really know.

Well, lets see shall we.
I have a Skyrim map on the wall next to my bed, an Assassins Creed poster on the wall, an Xbox360 infront of my TV, a Bioshock Big Daddy plush sitting ontop of that, a stack of Xbox360 games next to my TV, a stack of PC games next to my bedhead, if the turned on my PC they would see a New Vegas desktop wallpaper and, uhh, that's about it.

In review, I daresay the answer would be yes.

there is no way you could assume i was NOT a gamer, I have a bookshelf with 2 shelves packed with games, the top shelf and the top of the bookcase has all video game related things, there is also my desktop PC, my PS3, PS2, and my handhelds all in easy sight, not to mention teh stuff i have put away :S (including a sega game gear and megadrive my games also overflow into another cabinet

The only gaming device in my room is my 3DS, which lives on my bedside table. The rest all live in the lounge room.

On my wall I've also got my display cabinet that's full of collectables, though they're not all gaming related. So, most likely they would be able to tell.

A built PC
Behind me is a box as I am preparing to move. This box contains many games, blu rays, DVD's and CD's.
In an addon to my room is:
32" TV
A Wii
A Nintendo 64
Two Gamecubes (I don't know why)
A Zelda and Halo Poster. (I also have many film posters but those are my game posters)

I think they could gather the fact I play a lot of video games.
