Poll: If the Force was real would people be on the Light or Dark side.

I have much fear and anger but I lack the desire for power...

Unfortunately though I would LIKE to be light side... I would probably end up falling due to my inability to control said fear and anger. I also have this problem with attachment, I just couldn't "let go" of everything I'm afraid to lose.

I would have to lean to the majority of the world falling into the dark side... My chose would be the Light side. But the OP is correct; the majority of the world is dark, seedy place. Heck wars are started over he said she said... now add in the power of the force... Light is better the Dark argument erupts... bah.

I'd be neutral. I'm a generally good person, like to help others and so forth, but I am also very passionate and have a temper.

Also, must have force lightning. No question about that.

I was under the impression that you were either or - one can't simply "dabble" in dark side abilities, since it corrupts the soul. So light side. Because dark side is for douchebags.

Then you have the wrong impression. Look at the cover of The Swarm War. Luke is clearing a room full of buggies with Force Lightning.

Meh, not all EU is gold. According to the Zahn (whom I trust more than most EU authors), messing with the dark side and its powers really messed Luke up in the past.

If the Force was real, most people would be neutral and mostly powerless compared to Jedi and Sith, like they are in the actual Star Wars universe. I would be a Jedi though, just because I drink awesomesauce every morning.

What's more, I would bet you half the people banging on in this thread about how much better Dark Side is wouldn't make that decision after any serious thought if their life depended on it.

The Dark Side is suffering, rage, pain and despair. You get to shoot flashy things and be immature. You lose because of how emo you are.

The Light Side is joy, peace, love (in the greater sense than romantic love) and eternal life. Healing is only possible on the Light Side (smart move, Anakin, not). Light Side wins because of how strong its will is - oh, and destiny.

On those premises; Light Side it is.

...Not that it wouldn't be my personal choice anyway, without all that logic.

Silva; dark side healing is possible and even more effective than light side, read the Legacy comics and you will see.

And unless a person has a very strong self-control and more or less a Buddhist monk they will likely fall to the dark side since everything done with even a hint of emotion while using the force will drop you there (in the canon anyway).

the dark side for two reasons
1) Its like procrastination - the light might have more power in the end but the dark has more power now - hard work often pays off after time but laziness pays off now, same deal i feel.
2)MOST IMPORTANTLY - They have COOKIES!!!

I would be Dark Side because I don't believe things are either good or evil. It is all from the point of view of the beholder. So no matter how light side I think I am, to some people I will be on the Dark side and to some I will be on the Light side. I personally would blow up Alderaan just to move the story forward.

siths always get greedy and kill eachother, and if your padawan goes to the dark side and is killed u can say HAH told you so and use jedi mind tricks on his almost dead brain, siths can't use mind tricks and I'd only be envious of the lightning

forceless people may fear siths, but they don't like them
