I quite like my 360, so I probably would get an XBone (assuming it has any games I want anyway, I wouldn't buy it until something I wanted came out for it. Doesn't have to be exclusive either, assuming I don't already have a PS4.) if it didn't have the bullshit online checks, the shenanigans with sharing games, and the ability to unplug the Kinect.

That's never going to happen though, so I can content myself with not bothering.

No, because the DRM is only one of several reasons for why I am not interested.

- Forced usage of Kinect.
- The price.
- Trying to be a media box, when I only care about consoles for games.
- The lack of exclusives (currently) that interest me.
- Microsoft as a company.
- Xbox Live costing money while still having advertisements.
- Online connection required (not that it affects me greatly, but on principle).
- As well as the DRM.

If the price becomes good enough, and the exclusives make it worth my while, it'd be possible that eventually I might give it a shot. But as it stands the PS4 is cheaper and has better exclusives (in my opinion), as well as not having any of the above issues. Upgrading my PC is the other option.

Maybe in a few years, but not until the UK price was a quarter of what it currently is.

Not really, I've not seen anything otherwise that makes me prefer it to what the PS4 is currently offering, and if I really wanted a Microsoft product, at this stage I'd probably go with the 360 for the price.

Even if Microsoft were to revoke its asinine policies on always-online, Kinect nonsense that I have less than zero interest in, and lent/used game restrictions, now they've very clearly told the gaming community where their mind's at. It's a little hard to un-ring a bell.

So, no. The money's not even a factor, the PS4 could be $100 more and I'd still get it as things stand. But I'm perfectly happy to pay $100 less to not have to put up with any of that nonsense, and I say that as a 360 Gold user since 2008 who'll be switching.

If that was the case, it would be nice... though it's mainly this that still makes me feel uncomfortable.

Your friend must be on your list for 30 days before giving him/her a game and you can only give it to them once.
That seems really awful, especially since you can only do this with 10 people overall that's considered family, friends, ect. Also I do not understand why the kinect must be on my Xbox One at all times even if it's shown to be 'off'. But no matter, almost everyone in real life that I know wants one so I am being told to get one so we may all play together. Peer pressure sucks let me tell you.
That's a misconception. With the XBone you can Give a game (once and only to a friend who has been on your friend's list for 30 days) and Share a game through your Shared library. If you Give the game, it's gone, your friend owns it. And judging by the language it can't be given away by them to someone else. With up to 10 family/friends you can give them access to your Shared library, so they can play your games (probably only one person can access a given game at a time) from their XBones. This is really the only good thing the XBone seems to offer. They have not provided the details on this feature though. Does your XBone need to be on for someone to access the Shared library? Can you kick off your friend who's playing a game when you decide you want to play it or is it locked? Can only one game be played at a time or can your 10 friends each play a different game? I would want some clarification.

That being said, I have never owned any Xbox and did not intend to own one for this generation. I have always been impressed with the Playstation brand and their exclusives and always intended to go with the PS4 for next-gen. If I get to the point where money is not an issue and they give me a reason to, I might purchase a WiiU at some point in the future. XBone should never enter my home.

Yes. I'll probably get it when I get from boot camp, (assuming I make it to boot camp) why? well none of the DRM stuff really affects me. I have all of my Xbox games, never traded them in. I like playing my old games. and it gives my family more games to play as well. and I bought 90% of those games new. seriously the only used games I ever bought were final fantasy 13, Arkham asylum, and Ninja Gaiden 2. I never lend my games out because I don't trust people. so with the new system I just might start doing that if I don't have to actually give them my game. I use my 360 and XBL every day either playing games, playing music talking to people or watching videos. And as time goes on I do more and more with it. the services they keep adding are fun and I like them. and they never distract me from my games. far from it in fact, half the adds are mostly game related anyway and I've found some great stuff off the adds on the dashboard sales on dlc, dlc I didn't know was coming out, games being half off to download... Plus the customer service has been some of the best I've ever had with a company like Microsoft. when my first console that I got as gift in 2005 RROD'ed on me. both times. it was free to fix, and they sent me everything I needed to send it in for repair. plus when it came back a mere 3 weeks later both times they enclosed 3 months of free box live. seriously.

lack of backward compatibility sucks, I still play my old Xbox games on my 360. but it's not a deal breaker. and the cool new features like cloud share games or play on any console anywhere through the cloud sound cool, and I truly believe the drm in place was to curtail certain exploits on the system that are made available by the new features. like 20 people getting a copy of a game via sharing over the cloud, really all the problems associated with PC pirating come to mind as possible with out the DRM as bad as it sounds. plus if it's true that the game disk is only really needed to download the game and then can be run purely off the download, then just how do you sell it back anyway?

Edit: as to launch titles. well yeah most of the time the first few titles aren't that amazing, the first titles to use the new system is never going to be a good as the last titles. hell look at the differences between Cod games. Cod2 launched with the 360, same engine, look at how different each game is in terms of graphics, gameplay, and multiplayer.

so in short calm down and give it a some time. both consoles will probably be excellent, and who knows the backlash might force Microsoft's hand, or all this DRM actually works well, and isn't as annoying as it seems on the surface, or maybe both. give them both a year and see were we are.

The games look good, but it's the price that puts me off the whole thing. In fact, I actually like the idea of DRM. If my games update on their own, that saves them doing it when I want to play.
The ps3 already does this. You can set it to automatically turn on sometime in the evening (between 4-6am is default) and download and install updates :/
Only if you have PS+. ITs not a free service.

Sorry, the system hardware is more hardy on PS4, the exclusives I want to play were always on PS3 and never on X360... No, I can't see any reason to get an xbone. It's just not worth it.

That explains why I only noticed this feature after I signed up for ps+ lol. I assumed it only worked if your account was set to auto sign in
