it's the eye of the storm for mosquitoes. you know, winter. so i'm feeling a bit more charitable to them at the moment, but i know in a few months, i will once again try to kill them in midair with hate. so, those guys i guess.

While I loathe spiders, I don't encounter them as often as I do those *bleeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeep* mosquitoes.

None, because you cannot take one living thing out of the ecosystem without causing any negative ramifications.

Examples: Bees go bye-bye, many plant species will die out
Humans, most farm based plants will die out because most have no natural defenses
against bugs
If algae dies, most things will die on earth

Everything is connected.Picture it like a jenga tower, if enough blocks are taken away, the whole thing will collapse.

Mosquitoes are the only pest that I can kill without any guilty thoughts. All they do is annoy, annoy, annoy!

Ugh, I can't answer this! Most of those options are excellent.

Mosquitoes, hornets and wasps... (bees help make honey, necessary pest), mice & rats, cockroaches--oh god, cockroaches!!!--centipedes...

Too many of them need to die!

For god's sake man, he's basically asking which one you hate most. I know it's hard, but this requires a bit of imagination.
No he is not. If he was, he ought to ask it outright instead of pussyfooting around it.

Oh, that's right. Asking which creature you hate the most is such an easy thread. Rewording it to change the question to make it seem better than it is so more people will look at it is what any competent person would do, after all.
All I really did was create a scenario. Add a little flavour.

And "drive to extinction" sounds better than "click your fingers and watch them vanish".

People like you are the reason why humans can projectile-vomit.
People who answer the question they are given and actually think about the implications of it?
I pity the society you live in if thinking induces such a visceral effect.
Think about the implications all you want. I'm not stopping you. Actually, I encourage you. Discuss them at length, and consider the potential consequences on a case-by-case basis if you want to.

Just don't derail the thread or give me shit while doing it.

To be honest, I only edited the OP to make it clear that ecological considerations aren't relevant because people wouldn't stop moaning about the poll choices. Or my blatant disregard for any ethical considerations. And whilst I agree with that line of thought from a purely scientific and speculative perspective, this poll is intended to accommodate anyone who reads it, including those who take it light-heartedly and then move on.

I realize I am just picking at details, but if one doesn't care about the details, one cannot care about the basics.
I agree. But why get argumentative and antagonistic?

Torrasque said:
Bees are not pests no matter what you argue. They may be annoying at times, but they only sting you when you provoke them, and are extremely harmless extremely important insects. Anyone who would want the destruction of bees (economical ramifications or not) is an idiot.
Wasps/Hornets kind of fall into the same category as bees, but much less so.
Spiders are just as important as bees, because each spider will destroy 500% of it's body mass in other pests, in the course of a year. Economical ramifications or not, spiders are still awesome and very important.
lol, Ants? Really? I'm not even going to say why ants are important, because if you don't know, you are officially a retard.
Snakes/Caterpillars/Worms/Leeches: lol, same as ants, you're an idiot if you want to purge these animals from the earth.
Foxes/Wolves/Dingoes/Stray Cats/Stray Dogs/Wild Pigs: Now thats just silly.

Where is the elephant group? I don't like elephants. They are pests!
Where is the stray horse group? They are so annoying!
Every creature mentioned in the poll is considered a household pest by someone in the world, and anyone who reads this thread should have the right to choose whichever "pest" they want. Those that were suggested have been added... I've tried to cater to everyone, not just die-hard nature enthusiasts.

Don't assume that just because I've included an animal as an option, I consider it a pest. And don't assume that I'm a witless imbecile who lacks any understanding of the ecological consequences sure to arise should any of these creatures be entirely wiped-out.

Torrasque said:
No matter what, by including "WITHOUT ANY ECOLOGICAL RAMIFICATIONS" in the topic, you are pretty much asking people "what animals do you really hate?" and that is just a stupid question altogether.
Exactly how is it so stupid?

Thats the title, I think you're just doing this to look smarter than the rest of the forum, that's why I brought you up on it, the fact that you're correcting my grammar also points to that.
I posted my comment, then he changed the title just because he didn't like what I had to say. I was the first one to say anything about ecology. He slaps that little addendum into the title.
Not my fault he didn't think his thread through properly and getting answers he doesn't want. I'm just answering the question presented.
No. First I added "ecological" to the list of irrelevant factors. I admit that I overlooked it at first, but I initially figured that people would look at this thread in a different light.

Then, because I was copping a lot of flak from bee-lovers (on a side-note, bees can be pests, and not everyone loves them. My brother was stung by one, reacted badly and nearly died in hospital! Though I agree that they're a vital insect that aid both us and the environment in many ways, and that their demise would alter the world for the worst), and added an "EDIT" to the bottom of the OP to make it clear that environmental impact shouldn't be a major factor to consider when selecting a poll option.

Then, because people weren't reading the OP before posting, I added the "(WITHOUT ANY ECOLOGICAL RAMIFICATIONS)" part to the thread's title. Just to make it clear that it wasn't an issue.
*ahem*

just wanted to say you did a good job with this thread and some people need to tone down a bit, this was a pretty creative and positive thread from the get go.

but anyways, to the person you quoted, i pose this

http://www.associatedcontent.com/article/1140634/deadly_bees_attack_two_local_residents.html

there are at the very least double digits of articles the same as that, all over the web/newspapers, so please don't defend bee's like they are gentle creatures, my aunt and her dog got attacked harshly two summers ago which she got stung 14 times and the dog a good 20 or so i believe.

The motherfuckin' stink bugs!

Somewhere along the lines, these POS bugs waltzed in and decided to be a real pest. They're not what you call harmful OR helpful, but having them roam around and spread their stink (especially if you smash one) is a real pain in the ass. I would like God Himself to come down upon high and EXPLAIN their meaning to me, because I don't see one.

I HATE BEES!!! I stepped on a yellow jacket nest when I was a young lad and got attacked, and ever since then I've been deathly afraid of any kind of bee. I'm working on my fear but it was at the point where I would walk out of the house, spot a bee and go running back inside.

Wasps. I don't need to explain with anything other than a picture:

I'm sure someone's already posted this, but if not, I'm truly surprised.

As far as I can tell, most other vermin have *some* sort of importance, however I'm pretty positive that wasps only exist to cause fear, misery, and pain. I wouldn't miss them.

I'd not wipeout an entire group, but I would return all animals/insects/plants to their original state before we humans started screwing with them. I quite often see news articles where animals that we have moved from one island to a continent are causing massive food chain problems, or where our interference has caused the thing to become unstable (Africanised Bees, Kudzu Vines, Bananas etc.).

Spiders, god i hate spiders. Its not just the venomious ones even the harmless ones. If i find out a spider is on me, i freak out. If they were gone from the face of the earth i would be a happy camper.
