politicians are bad but that doesnt mean politics is bad. Confucius said that the government should be run like a family with the leader as a father and the followers as children. I agree, politicians are bad but so are we, how does a father control his children if they constantly complain about what they do. There are good politicians in this world too.

The first one is supposed to say "Soldiering." Sorry.
I was about to say, what do you have against soldering?

OT: I didn't vote for any of these. I know that there's a lot of bad seeds but in their own way all of the jobs listed are useful.

What's wrong with prostitution? If some women have to do it, they have to do it. It's not something you grow up wanting to do but if you need money then what makes money better than sex. I hate people who talk about prostitutes as if they are lesser people. The people buying the sex are worse in my opinion.
There is nothing wrong with it. Would I ever participate in it? I can't say, but I don't fault those that do or the women that do it for a living. Once upon a time it was a requirement to have a brothel in many countries that we consider "modern" today. Prostitution doesn't really hurt anyone or cause any major problems (except maybe for the prostitutes, they have to deal with being cheated, being looked down upon by their society in a very real way, being beaten and even killed with little hope for justice, and all of the health issues). yes, they are there to tempt a faithful man, but whose fault is it: the temptress or the one tempted? the one tempted always has a choice. They are advertising what they do, they don't exactly go around raping men or drugging them and then demanding money for the forced service. I agree: the anti-prostitution argument is a severely flawed one based on morals, not logic. As far as professions go, it really shouldn't be even on the list of professions about which people should complain: they offer what they sell and they aren't trying to cheat you. Someone who accepts a prostitute understands the risks just like someone who smokes has plenty of information about what's hazardous about it.

Teachers. Not because I have anything against them, far from it. I just think it would be hilarious to see society in 50 years with no teachers.

*Profession* Also I don't think there is a single profession I would erase. Every one has come to exist due to a need. While some needs are more dark than others, they each play a role in my life and the society I've come to enjoy.

Telemarketers, It's not even like they're effective.
There is the answer right there. While the rest in the pole are debatable, I think we can all agree on this one. Get rid of goddamn telemarketers. They waste time and resources and serve no useful purpose whatsoever.

No politicians?

That might sound good for all the childish, angst filled, rage against the machine/man, adolescence types out there, but seriously?

We should be adding more viable professions, for more jobs, to employ those who are out of work, not take them away!

I know you all hate government, but grow up, it kinda has a reason for being.... but I don't expect those who have made up there mind on the matter to realize that.

It's okay tho, I can see why you hate politicians, maybe go out and become involved with the voting process, you might change what you think is going on in the world of government.
Agreed.

I can't believe 81 people take on such a naive attitude that they feel we should get rid of politicians.

As for the prostitution one, I'll never get over people telling other people what they can and can't do with their own body.

Seconded. When the law needs an expert to interpret it then it's clear that the law is too complicated. The solution is not to build an entire profession around the law, the solution is to simplify the law so that the man in the street can understand it.
Bollocks.

The law is required to be intricate so that as many basis as possible are covered. If you make it so transparent as to no longer require lawyers then your laws are too vague and people will be wrongly convicted (or not convicted at all when they should be) due to ambiguity.

Health and safety officers. You know they just ruin all our fun. Plus I'm all for bringing back natural selection.

Gossip magazine journalists. All the other professions serve some purpose, whether we like them or not. BUT WE DO NOT NEED TO KNOW EVERY FACET OF THE LIFE OF SOMEONE WE WILL LIKELY NEVER MEET. I don't even know that much about people I'm friends with, so why the fuck should we need all this goddamn gossip about celebrities? Or about weight loss and all the other shit that goes into those magazines.

Soldiering.... hmm..... that just read out in my head as the activity of bonding wires. Y'know, pronounced "Soddering".
To any electrician, that makes the sub-caption much more applicable.

Bankers! They live to rip you off, caused the world-wide recession, and pay their CEOs and such bonuses while claiming they are in dire straights. Maybe all CEOs too.

The Paparazzi have no reason to exist. I don't see why anybody gives a shit about the mundane boring everyday activities of ordinary people (or who's-fucking-who, who's-divorcing-who, who has who's baby, who uses drugs again, etc. etc.)

Celebrity-worship in general has gotten way out of hand.

Probably prostitution or more specifically the pimps, nasty people they are.

Prostitutes rarely have a choice in the matter when it comes down to it and mostly it's because of the pimps that they have no choice.

I wouldn't take away politicians even if they are mostly slimy bastards, there will always be a need for mediators and in essence that is all a politician is even if they don't realise that.

You spelled "soldiering" wrong. "Soldering" is melting tin and lead wire over electrical contacts to bind them together. Until I saw some other people's posts I thought you had a thing against electricians, or something.

Anyway, if I were allowed to destroy one profession forever, it would no doubt be that of the professional athlete. They're a terrible waste of money and don't contribute anything in return. Of course, I would have said the professional actor, but I don't really want them to go away so much as get a massive salary reduction. What they do is not worth what they get payed.

I put other, but didn't see politicians. Most, if not all, politicians have something about them that bugs me.
