If push coems to shove it would be facebook, i use it but not as much as the other sites. Google and wikipedia are like my staple diet with a hint of escapist and youtube to make it not so boring.

Did anyone else find this quote shockingly ignorant? I'm so shocked I don't even have words to throw back that aren't derogatory. I didn't want to be directly insulting since he is entitled to his opinion, so I removed the quote data so he doesn't get pinged.

OT: Voted Facebook. Unless you are a comedian or a celebrity, there is no reason to use that site. That goes double for Twitter. I'll give it props for allowing old high school buddies connect, but there is such a self-serving sub-culture on that site that drives me away from even making an account. That recent Soutpark episode nailed it on the head.

It's a tie between YouTube and Facebook. YouTube is a more wretched hive of scum and villiany, but so many teenagers would be distraught if Facebook was brought down. I would never vote to get rid of Google. Their company motto is "Don't be evil."

Seriously, what does facebook do that is considered important? NOTHING. Everything practical that facebook offers can also be solved with a phone. Google, wikipedia, youtube, and yes, even the Escapist, have more use than Facebook. If it disappeared tomorrow, life would go on.

If I had to choose one of those it would probably be the escapist, as it's the most easily replaceable community.

Wikipedia- Generally reliable source of facts, vast databse
Google- Manages my email, has a good search engine and is used daily
Facebook- Easiest way to keep in touch with friends I don't see regularly, I use it excessively for organising people, as well as asking friends for help with uni related troubles. It is generally a useful tool (I don't necessarily have the phone numbers of all my friends handy, I do always have access to facebook via my phone).
Youtube-Hugely useful for watching instructional videos, watching music videos etc.

The escapist is fun, but I don't have any practical need of it like I do with every other site listed.
