Poll: If you could have one Superpower, what would it be? and Why?

I voted flight, but If I could choose it would be super speed. But as cracked.com has pointed out, my body couldn't possibly take the g-forces and impact if I ran into something etc. To avoid all that I would have the power to turn into sonic since he can withstand the colossal g-forces and impact etc etc.

I'd want the power to take molecules apart then put them back togedder in difrent ways.

Thereby in theory create practicly everything out of anything.

Nope, you'd only be able to change things already made. You wouldn't be able to change an H and turn it into Au.


I'm taking Immortality, assuming I can't die, I don't age and I don't suffer from a deadly disease.

because i like fire, it means you can fly and would never be cold.

Unless you're in an oil feild.

Telekinisis, because it encompases most of the other powers as well (such as flight, without wings).

Telekinesis. If I can move other things with my mind, I'm damn well gonna try to move myself, which will cover flying when I master it... Also, if I can hover around the rim of every room or miles in the air outdoors, I might as well be invisible... I'll just have to work on controlling some fire. Potentially from some sort of flamethrowing device...

If you could be immortal in that you live forever without ageing and without pain then you could see the universe end.

I'd like to fly but without wings.

EDIT: Immortality is probably the worst and also not a super power. It would be well boring after the earth dies then for the rest of eternity, also what if someone locks you up. Or what if you get caught in a black hole unable to die, probably the worst thing.

Anyways, I'd just love to have the superpower of gravity control. That way, I could fly and suck people I don't like into black holes whenever I felt like it. That's a form of telekinesis, right?

I'd choose telekinesis, simply because the others would make you either look like an idiot or make you lose your humanity:

Flight: Let's see who's laughing when you've got wigns sticking out your back?

Immortality: Our mortality is what makes our lives worth living. Living forever would drive you mad.

Invisiblity: Well, pretty useful if you want to spy on women's changing rooms, but otherwise, nah.

Pyrokenises: Look at the pyro in TF2 and forget it.

I really can't choose between invisibility, telekenesis and immortality.

Invisibility would allow you to get furthest in life; You get the ability to spy on people, avoid being seen when you don't want to and there's tons of ways to make money with it and live a nice life.

Immortality on the other hand allows for mostly the same things as invisibility, just in a more brutal way. I can see someone immortal spending (the larger part of) his life fighting in an army for large sums of money. Someone immortal would probably crave for the power of invisibility most of the time. Also, immortality isn't going to help you even the slightest bit if you end up in jail somehow (which you probably will because such a power attracts attention).

Telekenesis doesn't allow as much as invisibility and immortality (You get killed just as easy as any other man, the other 2 abilities are a lot 'safer'), but it'd allow you to have a seriously laid-back life. You'd go around the house doing everything at range and without effort. If you want to live a 'normal' life this would probably benefit you most.


In the end I suppose I'd go for invisibility over immortality, but it's really close. I just think it's the smartest choice; it doesn't attract attention while allowing you to have a good life and still giving most of the benefits that immortality or telekenesis would give you (the upper hand in a fight namely). A combination of these 3 abilities (or the ability to 'swap' between them at will) would probably be the best thing in the world. Either way, neither the ability to fly or to conjure fire allow for half as much as invisibility or immortality. I'd never pick any of those if I had a choice.

Immortality. I would also have cosmetic surgery to make my ears pointy.

Point being, I love history, and the thought of being able to witness hundreds, or thousands of years of it.. Makes me giddy.

Immortality is NOT invulnerability I'd hate to live forever as a gelatinous goo when I fell off the roof.

Telekenises would be the way to go. As long as your mind can lift things your flimsy body cannot. Basically, I would use this to make getting thru traffic and crowds easier or lift myself and then I don't need flying.
