What gay man doesn't love running about and getting all hot and sweaty with about 20 other physically fit, possibly attractive men?

Anyway, I wouldn't bother changing it. If they're straight? Good on 'em. If they're gay? Well, I'm not a fan of sleeping with men myself but since I wouldn't be doing the man-on-man sexytime, I don't see why I should have a say in it.

Where is the option for the fact Homosexuality is a choice, not a matter genes.
Because nobody would choose to have sexual feelings that could get him or her harassed or attacked, and the scientific consensus is that it's genetic?

Also: I wouldn't interfere, there are far more important things in the world.

I'd let the kid be who they were. I've got no right to play God.

Besides, if I change them and they screw up, then it's my fault! Can't have that!

thats debatable, nature versus nurture, since it was in a recent scientific study that about 10 percent of animals turn gay in any given species. And the human race is currently at 11% gay.

Also I have several gay friends, and they don't say being gay is a choice, they always told me they just "knew" they liked the same sex, by that I guess that they didn't have a choice in the matter, they were just born with it.

Wheres my Bisexual option? >:\ lol...
I was wondering the same myself. I'm bisexual and would refrain from getting the damn test. It's not like homosexuality is a disease that needs to be tested for, you either like boobs or you don't.

All of what is written in there is pure theory, not fact. And the head researcher even admits that most probably human sexuality is determined by a number of factors, not just genetics.

Eight people voted for "I am straight and I would change the genes to be straight".

Disgusting.

I would make him straight.

Why? Just because I feel it should be that way. I don't approve of Homosexuality, but as long as you aren't a flamer, you know, a "HEEEEYYYYYY GUUUUYYYSSS!" kind of gay, then I'm fine with you.

All Homosexuals who were offended by this post: Sorry.

You realize, homosexuality has nothing to do with tastes in what the like/dislike. I know homosexual men to like football.

For the sake of argument, my answer is in the context that homosexuality is caused by genes, as stated in the OP.
I guess it would all depend on how homosexuality is viewed in the future. In the present, people are for the most part accepting, but there is still a LOT of intolerance out in the open, and even more still in what people don't say.
As a parent, I would want the best for my child, so it would come down to whether or not people are more accepting of homosexuality than they are today. How he turns out is going to be a result of how good a parent I am to him, not what his sexual orientation is.

You've got to consider the society that we live in today. That doesn't necessarily make them intolerant, it might just mean that they accept the fact that others are intolerant.

I didn't vote in the poll because there was no "it depends" type of answer.

I don't have a problem with gays and i'm a heterosexual, as long as they aren't in your face about it

If I had to choose not to be straight, you at some point must have had to choose to be straight. When was that?

I'm sure you'll find plenty of homosexuals who get pissed off by gay men who play into that stereotype too.

I would think any rational person would opt to have the gene changed if it were simply that easy. This isn't to say that I'm homophobic, but why would you choose to put your child through a life of persecution? Of course... there is no proof of a "gay gene" so this will most likely never happen.
