Poll: If you had a chance to take over the world, would you take it?

a hundred percent. I would. It's pretty simple to me. We all know that politics is just bullcrap that slows a lot of things down. Social advances, scientific advances and economic advances. As a world officially united under one leader. We can get a lot of things done a lot faster without worrying about us pissing off the neighboring country. War is not an issue either. After the combined might of the world's military beat the shit out of first few rebellions the people would have no weapons left to put up real resistance. Guns will be made illegal of course.

Also i will hold nothing back from anyone, the government will be fully transparent and freedom of speech will be for everyone. I will however admit that my policy will not be democratic, probably socialist. A mix of two. Free media yes, freedom of speech yes, freedom to protest peacefully? Yes but you will be escorted by the police in case you get violent. Forming a militia and rioting? Military goes down and are allowed to kill. Riots are endangering the lives of other citizens and we will not have that in my stable rule.

The law will be much harsher too. Illegal trafficking of drugs? death sentence. Kidnapping? death sentence. Rape? Canings are included in your jail time for free.

In a nanosecond! And I would make a better world environmentally. There would be strict birth control to limit the population and major reforms in pollution control. There would also be a colony on mars within 30 years. All citizens of my new world order would be required to refer to me as your greatness when addressing me directly or the great benevolent one in conversation. Failure to comply with any of my numerous laws would result a visit to the 're-education centre' where 'friendly' staff will correct the error in their thinking, or turn them into soylent green trying!

You know they actually did that to people with inherited mental illnesses, though there was no banishing involved. And besides that I definitely remember a lot of talk about superior genes. You do realize that genes are responsibly for around 3% of what makes up out intelligence and that's at a big push, the rest beyond that is the result of one's upbringing and personal experiences.

Seriously though, I'd give running the earth a shot if i could work behind the scenes, but I'd probably leave most things as they are while trying a slow transformation. More finance for the sciences and arts and a transition away from a carbon based economy.

On an edited note, there sure is a lot of eugenics and euthanasia around here..
