Immortality sounds awesome to me. I would love to stand over the death-bead of my mortal enemy and freak him out with my un-aged face.

I'm not sure of the vampire rules with True Blood vampires, but assuming that vampirism freezes your physical appearance to whatever age you are, I would definitely wait a while before accepting vampirism. Being 15 for eternity would be rubbish.

And that raises another question, would you accept vampirism if it meant you had to be stuck at a young or old age forever?

Up to a certain value of "young" and a certain value of "old", yes. Just as long as I'm able to walk and not poop myself.

As someone who can walk and can customize his pooping schedule (occasionally at the same time), I can think of a variety of things I would never be able to do. For instance, being a sexually active club-gatherer. Getting a career. Having a fully matured brain. Buying R rated games. For me, those would outweigh the benefits of vampirism.

I think the matured brain can just be magicked in, according to precendent (never seen a senile vampire). I'm assuming it is, if I lose a single IQ point from becoming an immortal 2- or 80-year old, then my answer changes to a no.

Being an immortal vampire means careers aren't really necessary - while I suppose you have to get money somehow, you could always just put those powers to use. Let the CIA send you to bring them a South American drug-dealer's kidneys. As for R-rated games, just get some adult to buy them for you, like any other 4-year-old does when they want to play Grand Theft Auto. I suppose being sexually active is precluded by being in a pre-pubescent body, buy I'd be fine with that, since the corresponding urges would also be more or less gone and I could focus on other enjoyable things, so I'd still say it was worth it.

Yes and I want to sparkle in the sunlight to annoy the vampire purists. If I don't sparkle, then I'd just buy/steal a shedload of body glitter and roll around in it to get the effect.

I want to be like Alucard, well more like Seras, but still, I think I could put the power to good use.

Welcome, brother. We've been expecting you.

Vampires are monsters, and should always be thought of as such. They stem from old legends of unnatural beings who defy death itself. These old legends were not to portray as anything romantic at all. So, I would transform into a vampire provided that it was a VAMPIRE, a monster.

Well, if there are vampire women... rawr. Hey baby, is it your time of the month yet?

Sorry, I just cringed a bit, thinking about that.

Vampirism has it's ups and downs
you're stronger, faster, immortal, better senses but you can't go near a holy relic, the sun hurts, you get ill by garlic and Twilight single handily destroyed vampirism for me

I have never seen/played/read True Blood, so I'd have no idea what the parameters are.
If:
1. I did not HAVE to feed, but it gave me extra strength and speed or w/e if I did
2. There was no visual marker at all, including that damned fairy sparkling from Twilight
3. I would be immortal
4. I would gain better than normal vision at night
5. It would be relatively painless
6. Holy symbols and garlic and that crap had no effect.

Then yes. No real downsides, and a few perks I could make use of. Otherwise, probably not.

Doesn't actual vampire mythology (read: Dracula, Buffy, not Twilight, etc.) dictate that a vampire is actually a demon emulating a person's personality, but the person is actually dead? Because based on that, this question is nothing more than asking us if we would let someone kill us if they offered, only our body would be used for terrible things once we're no longer even around to see it. So... no.

EDIT: Also, the immortality thing. Not for me. I can understand the appeal, but I think it wouldn't be worth it. Anyone who thinks it would really needs to play Lost Odyssey; that game demonstrates the downsides to eternal life more powerfully than I could express.

But I would be one, i guess.

Depends on if I get full control of my faculties. Erections are based on blood flow, after all.

Also depends on if there's any groups that exist solely to fight vampires. I don't want to be hunted my entire life ala Jumper.

And it depends on how vulnerable I am in the sun.

The way I dress people probably wouldn't even be surprised, and have you guys who said no ever tasted blood? It kicks ass! Hell, being able to drink that without causing myself to vomit? Sign me the lump up!

I've never seen True Blood so I'll assume that there are different strains of the vampyrism to chose from. So in my hypothetical situation, I'd hope to meet enough Vampires to allow myself the room to chose which type I'd like to be. In all honesty though, I'd rather my body be used to keep an igor or several alive. Igors rock.
