My god who voted for half life, those are examples of some of the finest games that FPS has to offer.

I did because I'm sick of everyone calling it the mecca of FPS gaming and automatically dismissing anything new. And, *braces self* Halo and COD > Half Life.

World of Warcraft, easily. It's just a big grindfest with pretty cutscenes thrown in occasionally. Of course, not all MMORPGS even have the pretty cutscenes, so I guess it sort of earns a point because of that.

Lessee here... CoD seems to be slowing down... WoW is shitty, people just don't realise it, but it stimulates the economy (I guess)... Half-Life seems to have stopped altogether... Guitar Hero/Rock Band is kinda dead... Halo isn't gonna be seen for awhile, since Microsoft owns it, not Bungie... Fallout/TES are alright.

I'm gonna have to go with Final Fantasy.

I wouldn't remove any. Even if I don't personally like a franchise, others apparently do, since it's become a franchise. Why would I want to derive anyone from the joy they get from that?

Wow, I saw the unwarranted COD hate the second I saw the thread title. Anyway, I wouldn't remove any game franchise from existance because of 2 reasons.
1. No matter how much you don't like the game, someone else does.
2. The second you destroy some media, a part of you becomes a totalitarian piece of shit.

I was gonna say they were crap, but technically, there's only two games and two....episode...things. Although I personally couldn't stand the games. Only got Orange Box for Portal.

Online competitive multiplayer. Not a game franchise, but has turned entertainment into "You know what? I couldn't give a shit about how you pwn the scoreboards...."

My favorite series would be Final Fantasy (no, I'm not a FFVII fanboy, it's one of my least favorite) and think everything after X is bad. My favorite game is Tactics, with Earthbound a close second. As I've said earlier, I despise CoD. IMO, the new CoD's have done nothing but potentially ruin the FPS genre. I'm not going to repeat myself, if you want to know why read through the first two pages.
