I'd want to go with frontline infantry.
Partially because I've put a lot of thought behind it in case I do enlist and settled on infantry a while ago.

Infantry here.
Despite the term 'grunt' it seems like the best choice. Sniping would try my patience, and if I have to be in a warzone, I want to have my hands on the best gun possible.

I'd prefer to be a medic. I don't think that I could stomach murdering another human being, and would much rather help other soldiers. I don't have any problem with blood or gore, so it is the ideal position for me. Besides, as per the Geneva Convention, I'm going to be protected from being shot at and captured. (within reason, obviously)

A paratrooper.. Jumping into the middle of action, it's just heroic.

I'm am studying mechanical engineering so maybe I would fit into engineers also. But hey, I got good strength and endurance + I'm sort of an thrill seeker, so I would be jealous of all the soldiers doing the real fighting. :p

Well I was going to go into the Armed Forces as a "Chemical, Biological, Radiological and Nuclear (CBRN) Specialist", but my crappy eyes kept me out. So I guess realistical I wouldn't be in the military, period. Still if I could go back (and wanted to) I would like that CBRN job. Something that can be used outside the military.

Anyone with any time in the Army knows the Army moves on it's stomach, but succeeds by the efforts of the enlisted.

Give me two specialists, a Corporal, 5 privates, and a field manual, and I will move the world - 1SG Amico (My old Battalion 1st Sgt.)

Army Grunt all the way. Otherwise, the Chair Force can take a back seat, like always, the Navy can move my shit across the ocean, the Marines can fight and never quit, and the Medics are the bravest men and women on the battlefield. As for snipers, well, I never was one for sitting in a hide in the desert with three other guys, not talking, and not moving, for days at a time. Boring. I'd much rather be upgunning a Ma Deuce on a HMMWV, or patrolling a village as the 203 man.

I served as a combat medic. I enjoyed my time and learned a lot of skills which were quite useful even outside of the army life. Later on i enlisted in the program for career soldiers as a medical officer/doctor but after Germany got involved in Afghanistan i quickly looked for another career. The modern application of a "iustum bellum" theory for mainly US american interests wasn't something i could justify to myself and more important to my family to put my life on the line somewhere in the Hindu Kush...

Right now i would only return to the armed forces in a case of "State of Defence". Given the fact that i'm a teacher for an academic highschool, i would probably look for an officer position in a training unit.

I am surprised that the "sniper" category didn't wind by a landslide, I for one, voted for "Air Force", as my flying skills (I fly gliders occasionally) are better than my sharpshooting skills (I haven't had any formal training.)
[EDIT] whoops, I guess I forgot my entire engineering education *blush*

First choice would be fighter pilot, but in the british air force flying a typhoon preferably, rather than navy. Second choice would be sniper, as I like precision and also I don't think I'd get on well in a squad...

Well since I have already done my service and am a Sergeant in Mortars I would be leader of a 6 man + 1 (driver) group using a 120mm Mortar...
So I wont answer your poll since no option goes for that.

Sniper, its a valuable support role and good for gathering intel, not to mention I like the survivalist aspect of it.
I also like the more lone-wolf position, only one to blame is myself if I screw up.

Air force, flying a jet. Second option, sniper.

I like the idea of working on my own or with another person (wingman/spotter), but with a team by supporting them. Also like the guardian angel vibe of both things, particularly the sniper, it's nice to have your squad's back... and front... and sides (or well, at least one of them)
