Battlefield 3,Because snipers hiding in buildings should be able to die from mortar hailstorm and not be able to survive under two pieces of plywood.

I prefer the arcade style of COD but I haven't bought a COD game since 4 but my younger brother probably will

except for the Halo series because they do vehicles correctly.
Define correctly?
They're easy to destroy and don't turn you into an unstoppable death machine. They're also a lot more balanced in a game like Halo, since you can absorb quite a lot more damage than you can in Battlefield or Call of Duty. Vehicles just don't work well when they can kill you instantly.
And in Halo you can kill most smaller vehicles pilots with a magnum if you want to so you're not just crying yourself to sleep in a corner hoping it doesn't notice you until some guy spawns as an Anti-Tank trooper.

OT: I'd say, hmm, actually that's a hard question:

Do I choose the addictive, arcadey, reactions based, CQC of CoD or do I choose the semi-tactical, slightly realistic, fire-team based, vehicle-centered, long range firefights of Battlefield?

I'd say Battlefield, as long as they continue with the unlocks system in MP, and I can play MW3s SP some time.

Battlefield 3 by a fucking landslide.

I will always prefer Battlefield over CoD. I can't stand CoD anymore, I really can't. I played Black Ops for 5 days and it just felt like the same old shit all over again. Thankfully I rented Black Ops and only wasted $8.71 instead of $65.

Well, I'm already going to buy Ace Combat: Assault Horizon, Mass Effect 3, The Old Republic, Mass Effect 3, Whatever DLC they put out for BC2 (if they do it)...

But if I had a choice I'd go Battlefield 3. It's really a question of do you want to play with tactical thinkers or little children who can't aim worth shit.

Count yourself lucky I fell hook line and sinker for their "This is going to totally reinvent Shooters" bullshit and bought the prestige edition. I died a little inside typing that out.

Two copies of ME 3, thats dedication! I myself also cannot wait for ME 3 with good old Commander Shepard and his merry band of meatballs.

this

and
I also like halo's vehicle jack system that makes trying to close the distance to a big ol' machine 'o' death with a cannon for a head just so you can jump on it and nick it from the poor bastard inside whilst possibly beating him to death, where vehicles are not just insta - wins for the team that gets to them first, and when it comes to larger vehicles, sometimes going in stealthily with active camo and a plasma pistol can get you close enough to the engine bay to plant a grenade inside, something I haven't seen properly replicated in ANY game I have played to date and I utterly love in halo.

OT:
I think that the additional pressure that will be on sledgehammer studios (who I believe have taken up the reigns from IW) to create a truly awesome MW3 will be enough to force an interesting game experience out of them, it simply comes down to if they bother trying at it, I mean there is a good chance they could just buckle under the pressure and release a timed update rather than the thrilling conclusion to the MW arc that a lot of people are after, I hope they can pull it off, as I really want to see how the story plays out, meanwhile I will be playing me some Battlefield 3 because that game looks DAMN FINE!

Tough choice really. I really love both series, but over the last couple of months I have been getting less interested in CoD, and more in Battlefield (the trailers have been hyping me up), so I would probably choose Battlefield 3.

Although in reality I will get both :D

Ahah, D3.0 had better be more realistic than D2.0 which featured in BFBC2. In that game you can replace plywood with "internal wall" or "magic indestructible roof" and you get nearly the same effect.

Anyway Battlefield 3. All my friends will be getting it and for good reason, the multiplayer is epic. I hope the singleplayer mode is more interesting than BFBC2's was, however really I view the singleplayer mode as a bonus.

After the mess that was MW2, I swore that I would only rent CoD games from now on. When they put away the Copy & Paste tool and stop with the bullshit re-skinning, I'll slap down $65 on the game again.
