Yeah, I'm going to roll with "C. Neither." I'm trying to find games where the skill it takes to defeat an enemy is more than "Point. Click. Win."

Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with shooters, but I'm just bored to death of them. CoD4 was awesome, but the series has pretty much peaked there and stayed there. The only two noticeable improvements were the "select your killstreak" option in MW2 and *gasp* zombies in WaW. Other than that, Activision has essentially looked at PC gamers and gone "Oh. Them? I dunno, just give them something." and then proceeded to screw us over with a glitchy game and overpriced DLC.

As far as Battlefield goes, I've never really gotten into it. I've played BC:2 for a few hours, but that's about it. It kinda feels like an exclusive club to me. If you didn't get in on this thing on the ground level, well good luck playing catch up. Everyone's got better weapons than you already and it takes a year and a half to unlock anything.

Anyways, yeah, "Neither" and I'm going to wait for The Last Guardian and Ace Combat Assault Horizon. And it looks like I'm going to keep waiting for the former...

I've gotten sick of the Modern Warfare series after the first one, and I've never played another Battlefield other than Bad Company 1. I would love to give this game a chance.

The people who say "ugh, battlefield just looks like another CoD" Obviously have never played any of the originals. I may be young, but even I look back on them and think "Those were the days..."

Modern Warfare will never have what Battlefield has. A kickass theme.

Yeah... um, I'm going with Battlefield 3, but that song is terrible. HEY LET'S MANIPULATE STATIC!

Also, to chime in on the current debate: Halo does vehicles better than Battlefield IMO, because the controls are actually any good whatsoever.

except for the Halo series because they do vehicles correctly.
Define correctly?
They're easy to destroy and don't turn you into an unstoppable death machine. They're also a lot more balanced in a game like Halo, since you can absorb quite a lot more damage than you can in Battlefield or Call of Duty. Vehicles just don't work well when they can kill you instantly.
That's the joy of Battlefield. Instead of balancing a game solely on a "what's fair to 1 player", they balance it on "what's fair to 1 team".
See, I don't like that. I want to feel like I can win a team game on my own if I'm playing well enough. That's simply not possible in Battlefield... but I do it all the time in Call of Duty. Team Deathmatch? Who needs teammates, watch me go 40-3.

I had a bad experience with Bad Company 2, not gameplay mind you that was awesome. The problem was that during multi-player i would always disconnect every 30 minutes or so, it was like clock-work and despite having switched from wireless to LAN-cable in the meantime it still does this (oh and Punkbuster still is a piece of shit, wont work even though i updated it 5000 times all ready).

Now the single-player, 5 times did i loose my save-game, for no reason at all. I did not mess with any files or anything, so finishing that is out of the question.

So if battlefield 3 manages to deliver on a stable multi-player experience, i will be happy. But until then i am just going to wait and see.

The battlefield series usually only has one crippling balance issue instead of six.

Neither. I save $60 which I then use on something awesome like a burrito or a new pair of pants.

Have to wait and see. If MW3 is like the original then its single player will smash Battlefield, but otherwise have to wait to see.

Wow this is tough for me.

On One hand MW2 was a pretty piss poor sequel to what was one of the best FPS of this gen.
On the other hand DICE's last game, Medal of Honor, was much worse then MW2 (I can't believe I actually preordered that)

I think Battlefield 3 has a slightly greater chance of being purchased by me. Mainly because despite the abomination know as the Metal of Honor reboot, DICE has done some pretty good stuff, while over at Infinity Ward the best and brightest left it after the Activision lawsuit.
