They did kinda jump the shark after gold/silver/crystal
I agree, I think G/S/C were the peak of the games, but I still loved them all.
They were ok, but once you get past 250 poke'mon it kinda starts getting redundant. I will miss having Gardevoir in my lineup once my copy of Heart Gold shows up, though if I really miss it I can always go look at all the delightful porn it inspired... -_-

[small]Seriously though, do NOT do a Google image search for Gardevoir with safe search off...[/small]

OT: I'm very entertained by how many other 18+ people play the games. I was expecting 1-17 to be a little higher, though the results are probably biased because of the ages of Escapist members.

I'm 19, and I love Pokemon still. I was really excited for SoulSilver and preordered it, still have a large collection of pokemon cards and like the collectibles I find for cheap

Though I've found myself a very nostalgic person who holds on to things older than myself just because I remember the good times with it. Though I still have fun playing Pokemon, and most my friends (ranging from 19/20-25) play pokemon as well

I'm 19, and I am considering getting SoulSilver.

I've completed every generation, and I think that you can never be too old to play Pokemon! :D

I'm 17 and I still play Pokemon. I still haven't gotten to play Heart Gold or Soul Silver yet which is annoying me greatly.

I'm 16 this summer, and I see no end to my Pokemon playing.

Except if they come up with some bullshit pokemon... some sort of overlord that is better than Arceus.

Then I'll stop playing the new games... maybe
21, still play Pokemon, always will.

I must agree, of course I never really cared for Arceus. You can kinda capture and control God in that game (and have him lose a fight if you want him too).

In all honesty nothing will be as overpowered as Mewtwo was in Pokemon Blue/Red.

As I've said before, they are awesome RPGs.
Even though some of the Pokemon are rather silly, and introducing deities was a mistake I think (but that's another rant for another day).
I love the games...and I'm 19.

Apparently the average player is 19 1/2 or something like that.

Pokemon's pretty popular where I come from. Not the anime, comics, or anything like that: just the games themselves. To be honest, while pretty unoriginal, they are pretty enjoyable. I dig mine out from time to time, just the same as I do with Zelda, which I don't view as much of a kiddie game either, even though I started playing Zelda when I was six, and the series has always been aimed at kids.
