Poll: If you traveled back in time to 1909...

Ok, here's the full question: If you traveled back in time to 1909 and everyone could tell you were from the future right away (There was no way of hiding it), would you lie about the future to them? Or would you tell them the truth?

Also, what truth/lie would you tell them?

id tell tehm about the horrors of WWI and WWII and .. well it depends where (what location) would i be? If it's Germany i'd tell them to piss off and not make war, if i was in France or Russia or wherever i'd tell them to prepare their military. Oh if i was in Russia i'd warn them about the revolution. I'd warn them about the dangers of letting hysterical women into the political process and having politicians pandering to the "think of the children" set. Armed with a few good news clippings from the present, I'd say "this is what your children will become if you continue down your present path." I think the notion of a world where kids run amok for lack of proper discipline at home, where young adults leave the nest having never been taught how to accept rejection and failure, and where the government has its hooks into most elements of daily life would be so appalling to your typical 1909 man on the street that you'd see a major shift away from "progressive" views and toward order and social conservatism. What would be interesting would be to see how that turned out for America by the time something like WW2 rolled around---the seed might be planted for American co-operation with the more conservative states of Central Europe.
