I would warn them about a small, pathetic man with big ambitions that hates Jews and is going to kill millions of people.
Interesting, that. Hitler was once homeless.

I find that to be cruelly ironic.

On another note, I would tell them to protect Archduke Franz Ferdinand at all costs, and if that fails dig as many trenches as you can in Europe before war breaks out.
Wasn't it the assumed trench warfare of WW2 by the French that led to their downfall? (ahhhh, I miss the History Channel. >_<)

I was talking about World War One. World War One is arguably one of the most significant causes of World War Two.

I wouldn't tell the truth about the future. I'd edit it so that they could understand.

Let's be honest, computers and TV's and all that just wouldn't make sense to them.

Well, computers and the internet, maybe not, but the idea for television has been around since 1881.

I am Futureman! Behold my power and tremble as I use... The interwebs! Tremble before the sheer blinding ignorance and triviality of it.

I'd used the time to kill off the Arch Duke thus preventing world war 1....
Unless it took you a few years to find him, in which case you might start WW1.

Lie, no. Creatively misinterpret, yes.

Of course, while less of a time-shock than a Connecticut Yankee situation, I do know enough to live like a king while there. P/n-doped silicon? Improved finite-element math? Possessing stuff either undiscovered or trapped in an ivory tower means the world's your oyster.

I would help Hitler to rule the world just to see what would happen. Then of course go back in time and correct it if the results suck...which they most likely would. Then I would go support another Dictator hmmm like Stalin though making Mussolini successful could be pretty damn hilarious.

Yes 50% (22)
No 50% (22)

How long is this going to go on for?

Oh well, I guess I'd lie and say that they needed to prepare for an alien invasion, and warn them about the banking system that will seal their doom.

Here's a bit of a mind fuck for you.

If you went to the past there are a number of possible results for the existence of humanity. Before we go into this I'd just like to point out that we're not that important in the grand scheme of things and calendar-hopping won't make a difference to the rest of the universe.

Now, the first possibility is that by saying something in the past, you would alter the future, or your pre-hop 'present'. This could mean you stop Hitler causing all sorts of economic and technologic advances to simply disappear, or you could be ignored as a lunatic and have little or not effect. Of course, there's a lot of grey area.

Second possibility is that in returning and surrendering information you create an alternate dimension in which the people are aware of this and act differently to the dimension from which you came. Any return to your original timeline will not show any change because you have not shifted its path, rather a turn-off.

The final option is the real mind-fuck. If such things are pre-determined then you have already gone back to the past and surrendered all the information you are or are not about to. The way that humanity reacts to this information has, according to your personal timeline, already played out and resulted in the 'present' from which you came. As such, you alter nothing, but instead fulfil your necessary role as was set out in a possible past-future loop and which you will endlessly re-do with each passage of that point in time.

For myself, I'd consider my options and surrender nothing, instead try to return to my previous present.

to be honest if you just played the guitar only once then returned to your own time line, the people that saw you would probbaly just be classed as insaine and thus all you would loose is a few hundred people in the future, you never know it could of affected your own family.

I'll lie, so they won't believe me and I won't mess up the space time continuum. Shit, too late. God curse the domino effect.

I would bring back a grenade launcher and a minigun and declare myself Overlord of Earth. Then I would make the little meatpuppets dance for my amusement.

The future is probably fucked by my presence in the past, so I would wander around moving small to medium size objects around to see what difference it made.
