I'd be a Sith, and my lightsaber would be hot pink... just because. What are you gong to do make fun of me? I'm a god damn Sith... making fun of my gay lightsaber would not a be a wise choice. Getting killed by a pink lightsaber is about as bad as being beaten to death by a cheerleader weilding her spirit stick.
Or being killed by a guy in bright pink Spartan armor named "a_pink_fairy" on Halo online.

OT: I'd have to go with viridian (that cool metallic blue/green mix in the second KOTOR).

Jedi/Sith it doesn't matter really, but I'd SO try and get a lightsaber colored like a candy cane. (Also known as the "Barber pole look") Failing that white or black.

black... because it would be ironic to have a "light"sabre that produces no light.. quite stealthy if you could mute the damn thing.

Black, because it sounds metal as hell. Also, I think it kinda goes with the whole "sith" feel.

Red, won't ruin your night vision and super intimidating. Also, red is my favortie color. Think if you were riding a horse through a town at night swining a red light saber. You could call the queen of england a ***** and nobody would mutter a word.

What if you walked into the US congress and brandished a red lightsaber, you would get any bill passed you pleased.

If you had a red lightsaber you would never have to pay taxes.

If you had a red lightsaber you'd never have to buy a beer again.

Speed limits don't apply to people with red lightsabers.

You will never get a j-walking ticket with a red lightsaber.

Gamestop employees will give you full retail price for traded games if you have a red lightsaber.

To all the people who said "I want X color because it means Y", you are tools. None of the colors mean anything. It's just a freakin' color. And I can give exceptions to every rule I've seen.

-Blue is a good guy's saber. Hm, a quite influential Sith Lord used a blue one, by the name of Exar Kun.

-Green is used by contemplative people who study the Force more. Cin Drallig used a green saber (canonically, I know there are pictures of him with a Blue), and he was the Swordmaster of the Order.

-Red is for Sith lol1!11!!1 Really? Leia was an instrumental Jedi following the movies, and she used a Red saber.

-Black would be a great stealth weapon/good for Sith. Yeah, it would be, if it was at all possible.

-Silver is used by people who believe in balance. Uh, no. The only canonical Silver/White sabers I can recall are used by Imperial Knights, who are simply bodyguards.

-Purple is for the strongest fighting style (Juyo). Maul used Juyo. Red. Kavar used Juyo. Blue. Zez Kai Ell didn't use Juyo, purple.

I pick Red, because I think it looks the best. It's an aggressive color, and is the most intimidating.

Black as the soul-crushing depths of interstellar space. So all of you guys have a great big beacon that says "hey, check out this guy, he thinks he's invincible." My 'saber says "yeah, bring it on, punk. I'm so dark, I absorb light. What do you think I'll do to you?" Besides, you can't block the thing, because you can't see it. The only drawback would be that I wouldn't be able to knock blaster bolts back at people, since they'd be absorbed.
