Fake legs work much better than fake arms.

That said, ZombieJoe, a few of the threads I've seen from you are pretty focused on gore, death, and stuff like this. Why? Fascination? I'm just wondering.
Now that you mention it, I have done a few gore posts recently. Well gore can be used as a way to make hard choices for the escapist community, which everyone loves. And the one I made about most gruesome death was just to see what people would do. :D
I answered that one, too, I believe I was first or second poster. It was pretty bad.
I think so to my follower.

I'd really prefer to just let him be...but if I had to, I'd pick the leg. Maybe he'll get one of those cool AK-47 peg legs and wind up better off than he was before.

Leg, your hands are used for almost everything these days, and a prosthetic leg does everything a normal leg needs to, a prosthetic arm doesn't have half the functionality of a real one.

I don't have the medical training to remove either appendage without the victim hemorrhaging to death.
Play the game..

I would remove his arm. He could easily get a replacement ... like a hook!

Or a Swiss army arm (...)

Or...he could be like the guy from the book "Between a rock and a hard place" and have a pick axe.

The technology to make a fully functional replacement arm or leg, controlled by thought, that, after a bit of physical therapy, you wouldn't notice wasn't your own (except it can't feel, and is detachable) already exists, so it shouldn't be that long before it's possible to get for us civilians either. I'd go with the leg, since tactile sensation is much more important in the hand, and figuring out how to move all fingers correctly would be a pain, and one hell of a chore for the programmer.

Leg. He can live a perfectly normal life as a pirate! Arrr!

Though knowing me, and I have a fear of blood and guts and squishy insides, I'd spent most of my time cutting with my head turned away and my eyes closed...So he wouldn't so much as lose a limb as become bifurcated. x_@

I'd rather my leg be chopped off as I still want to do stuff that requires both hands.
So, I'll do the same for this poor sod.

leg, why would you ever consider that more important then an arm? Besides isn't it close to impossible to make a 100% working arm but kinda easy for an leg?

I would cut off his arm so he couldn't beat me up in retaliation. Of course I could always cut off his leg and outrun him after... I guess since an arm is ultimately more useful than a leg with the creation of wheelchairs the subject would lose a leg. Or maybe even both legs.

Arm, I would rather loose that than a leg, so I pick that for this stranger. I think it would be easier to live one armed than having to get a fake leg/wheelchair. I have no idea tho really.

EDIT: Actually, I changed my mind, those fake legs look like they work really well. Fake arms, not so much.
This. (The edit)

Arm, because it's much simpler to remove. Three simple cuts from a serrated knife and you're done. Legs, on the other hand, are much more complex, not to mention the vastly tougher muscle which generally makes it a pain to deal with.

(Please don't ask how I know any of this).

Leg, Because you could get a wheel chair crutches or on of those fake legs
While you can still do that with your arm its still easier to do that with your leg
