Can I be a Malkavian?

I fucking LOVE Malkavians. And I probably would loose my morals as well as my mind, so it'd all turn out great for me.

Hmm, I've thought about this from time to time.

It'd be awesome to live for a long time and see how things go for humanity, but assuming you weren't destroyed eventually I think life might get boring. Also, if you were able to become one that means they've been around for a long time and there would be countless vampires older and stronger than you probably bossing you around. I can't imagine it would turn out any different than some really big pyramid scheme society. That and killing someone innocent because I lost control would really suck, no pun intended.

Maybe if I could someone know I'd never end up killing or be forced to kill someone not deserving (or maybe no one at all) I'd give it more thought. Maybe live for a good long time and then enjoy a nice sunrise.. Then again, maybe after all that time you'd be unable to let it go.

A lot of things in life I enjoy, things I wouldn't be able to enjoy as a vampire.

Also, for someone with faith I don't think I would like to miss the afterlife.

First, vampires are not immortal, they just won't die of old age. They can die or even kill themselves if they get overly tired of life.

So the fear of immortality is really not a reason to say no.

If being a vampire made you automatically evil and selfish then I would say no. If you kept control of yourself but just had strong cravings for blood....I would probably say yes, and then train myself to be a vampire hunter (If I was a vampire there would be others out there preying on people).

In fact, I would probably search out other mortals who I could trust with a similar belief and make them vampires as well, so we would have a posse of vampire, vampire hunters. We would roam the earth killing vampires everywhere we found them until there were no more vampires and then together we would see one last sunrise, our reward for a job well done.

Why not? There are no real cons to this arrangement. I don't go outside, can't afford silver and I don't tend to trespass very often (question: Does this include all land owned, or just the physical domicile? I don't really mind either way, but it would be nice to know if I'm allowed to leap from rooftop to rooftop or not.)

I don't need daylight hours, and hate garlic anyway. I could use the various associated superpowers, though. So, yes, I would. In a heart ----.

Nah. That's like the worst kind of vampire. I would only become a vampire if I could be like Dracula via Castlevania.

Does anyone know which bit of fiction came up with that whole "can't go outside" stuff? I'm sure most of us here know this already but the Dracula from the book of the same name could go outside just fine....he was just slightly weaker.

...would you do it?

And I don't mean sparkly Twilight vampires, but the real deal.

In most cases, hell yes. I don't go out during the day anyway, I already feed on cows, and I'm in lesbians with mist form.

Hell, why not it's gotta be more interesting than being a flimsy mortal, who knows if i could get to Alucard level then all those drawbacks go out the window leaving only the super awesomeness

No garlic...
...
...
I'm not sure if I could do it. Food is one of the very few things in life I find enjoyable, and nearly everything uses garlic.

... but, I think I'd go for, getting older does suck.

I don't go out of the house a lot be it daytime or not and there's not really much silver in the house so the only real drawback for me would probably be that i'd have to stop eating garlic.
Though i believe that's a small sacrifice for immortality.

Also i'm sort of a moral nihilist with sociopathic tendencies so killing someone wouldn't be much of an issue(and hey, if i'm a vampire i should ENJOY the taste of blood)

So yeah, seeing as there are many more upsides than down i'd definitely go for it.

Probably no.

There are all kinds of awesome immortal beings out there that have it much better than vampires so I'd just pick one of them.

Besides, I don't like the thought of having to drink blood and not having garlic. I've just discovered how tasty garlic can be! To say not being able to eat other food!!

No, no ,no, no... NO.

Of course I would. Being a redhead, the sun is enough of a problem for me anyway, so I wouldn't miss it that much. Besides, turning into a bat would be sweet!

Only if I would be Vampire Classic. You know, the floating, alluring, sexual, predatory, manipulative ones of the olden, golden days of Hollywood. Ones where Vampires just act like normal people with extra strength suck. I want to be the "soulless demon" kind of vampire.

I think I would enjoy being a country Gangrel presiding over a small farm of ghouls (Masquerade era... not as fond of the New World of Darkness)...

Depends on the vampire. I'll go with Terry Prachett's because, like many of his fantasy re-imaginings, they make sense.

Craving for blood? It's really just a craving. Like cigarettes, you can wean yourself off it.

Touch silver? Gloves.

Eat garlic? I'll live.

Enter a house without invitation? 'Round these parts, we call that breaking and entering.

Sunlight got you down? Wear heavy black clothes and a mask, cover yourself entirely. Only bright light is a problem (if it were any sunlight at all, I'd die during the night, too).

Turned to dust? Drop of blood will fix you right up.

Honestly, it's not so bad. If there are any disadvantages I should know about, please let me know. Although there really aren't any advantages other than not dying of old age. Of course, that is a pretty good advantage. (Though I think I'd like to be frozen in my mid-to-late twenties. Being a teenager for all eternity would be hell. It's only fun because it doesn't last forever)

It all depends on the type of vampire and from what mythos. Vampire: the Requiem's Kindred are my personal favorite brand of walking dead- make me a Toreador Daeva, and I'll be walking around as an immortal panty-evaporating superman for however long I would deal with it. The blood you drain from humans apparently tastes like ambrosia and nectar to the undead, and the actual bite and draining is apparently better than sex for all parties involved. Plus you wouldn't need to kill your victims- seduce, fuck all night (these vampires can have sex by effort of will, even without pulses), and top the evening off with a super happy fun time kiss so you can take what you need. If they aren't still woozy from the best night of their life, chances are they'll call you back next day. Best part? The amazing method they sire other vampires. You have to drain a person to the point of death and willingly, actively feed them some of your own blood before they kick it- you can't drain a mass murderer and wake up three nights late only to find that the bastard us an immortal creature of the night unless you wanted to.

That said, any amount of fire would make me crap my pants, and actually touching it would probably kill me. I would also never be able to eat actual food again, and every night my appearance shifts back to what it was when I was turned. I guess I would not actually CHOOSE to become one, but if the change was forced, I would try to make the best of it.

Any other type of vampire, I'd probably say no.

Combining my blood-lust with murder with superpowers thrown in ... sounds good but then I would have a hard time sun proofing my apartment and being forced to endure bland spaghetti for ever ... hmm I'm not sure.
