Ive taken the new stuff at E3 and all the other publicity as a way of bringing in people who werent already into or sold on Mass Effect. A lot of business speak and PR stuff to appeal their marketing to a larger audience, along with some of the actual gameplay itself. From what I've seen, the combat in ME3 looks a lot more refined or even on par with some of the best 3rd Person Action games.

When I look back to the idea of Mass Effect, I think that was the intention when it came to their gun play. Trying to really put the RPG and the Third Person Action together, but it was never really in a good mix. What I've seen looks more like theyve finally gotten that down to a great balance. RPG elements and story when it comes at you, then taking the chains off for pure action when it calls for it.

Either through lack of creativity or something else holding them back, I get the feeling the combat in ME2/ME3 is more on par with what BioWare kind of intended Mass Effect to be in the first place. Just my opinion, though.

Also, when it comes to story, I try not to think about or speculate too much. Either spoils the experience or I go in with unrealistic expectations or too many 'wants'
