OT: I've only changed my avatar once. Both were cloaked, silhouetted figures. But i'm not even recognised here except maybe by some Brovengers/ my fellow bastards.

My avatar exists in a near constant state of fluctuation. I highly doubt that anyone would identify me by anything other than name. And even then, I also doubt I'm known at all outside of one particular thread in the RP section.

Might go back to it. Might not. We'll see where the road takes us.

People know me well enough regardless of avatar.

I change it too often nowadays to be associated with it, and if an avatar is what I'm to be known for, it's not worth it anyway. ;p

I don't really care about recognition to be honest (I used to but I moved away from that avatar two years ago). I just stick with my avatar (or something similar) because I can't think of anything better. I have experimented a few times with other [http://s12.postimage.org/i0vxxdc7t/Pikmin_Soldier.png] ideas [http://s10.postimage.org/9rnby9q5j/Warrior_s_Dance.jpg] (I've also had ones based on Pris from Blade Runner, a failed Batman cartoon [http://www.escapistmagazine.com/news/view/106879-Trashed-Batman-Cartoon-Made-Joker-a-Psychotic-Teen] and for a few minutes one based off Breakfast at Tiffany's). But I'm never quite as fond of them, hence I'm always going back to my old favourite.

Of course, the one I use most is also the one I have a slight amount of recognition for. It's just not something I consider when thinking about a new avatar.

I don't even remember my first avatar on this site. I think it was the Aperture Science logo with the March Madness thing in the center... then I changed it to some robot dance thing and now my amazing Gaben and his glorious shining beard.

It's from the music video for "Do the Evolution" by Pearl Jam. I've also used it a number times in the past intermittently with a clown soldier avatar which is where you may be remembering it from.
