Since you play on a mac, I don't think most of them would consider you one of them anyway so.... :D
That's another thing; you cant just play on a PC, you need to have the RIGHT PC and if it's a Mac or costs less than $1400 you get shunned by the community.
What a crock of shit; every PC gamer I've seen spends the entire time telling people that you can build a very good gaming PC for cheap if you're smart about it.

And anti-digital distribution? We're the ones pushing it.
No from what I've seen, I've seen lots of anti-Steam people that dismiss it just because it's online.
Yeah, some people. But it's also got 30 million users, so think about it for a second.

The Escapist had a recent poll and it was the majority of console gamers that were against DD.
I've never been a fan of polls to try to get opinions; wheather it be gaming or politics.
What an odd statement, being that this is labeled as a poll, stranger still is that even though you labeled it a poll it is not a poll. Am I the only one confused on this?

I'm pretty sure it doesn't matter whether you're a fan of them as to whether or not they're right. Also, for the record, I agree with Woodsey on everything.

Nothing is cooler than a Macbook Pro with Windows 7, the style of Macintosh, the games of Windows, and the power to go between.

I've spent enough time on the boards to know that PC gamers aren't as stereotypes make them out to be. I'm a console gamer, and I dabble in a bit of PC gaming when Steam offers great deals.

But when you truly immerse yourself in the culture of gaming, you tend to blow off the 12 year old brats with horrible parents, or the elitist PC gamer who calls his genre the best genre ever, and everything in between.

I like everything equally, and realize that each platform has its advantages, like PC games are more customizable and you can make your own content easily if the developer allows it, while with console games, you get games like Rock Band and a few other console exclusive games. Each platform has it's strong points and weak points, and I like them all equally.

That's bullshit. If anything, it would be the other way around: if you're not capable of assembling your own rig for less than 900$ then you'd deserve some flaming.
Hell, my rig cost around 732$ (give or take a few thousand ISK).
You know u play too much eve when ...

OT: Stop caring what outer people think. You happen to enjoy certain games that happen to be on a PC. Your views are going to differ with outer people that enjoy different games that happen to be on a computer. Just don't associate your viewpoints with theirs.

I'm not embarrassed to be a PC gamer; it's not like my platform tried to use motion controls to get into the casual market.

Self esteem based on choice of consumer goods is overrated and PC gamer is pretty much just a statement of fact rather than an ideology for most of us. I wouldn't expect a Mac owner to understand that though.
Oh BURN!
You also have my vote for best post.

OT: While most of the crap they spew is bad, I don't hold the DRM thing against them. They're the f*cking consumer, they have the right to ***** about whatever they want as long as it concerns the product they are consuming or considering to consume.

I usually just remember the point that the most vocal elements in any group are frequently the minority. Making the problem worse is that news media and the anonymity of the internet tend to favor the worst individuals rather than give an accurate showing of the majority.

I've always assumed people would refer to Windows boxes as PC's and Macs as Macs, seeing as how that's how they're usually marketed...

Embarrassed to be called a PC gamer? Not at all. Nobody speaks for the entirety of the PC Gamer community, much as they would like to. Let people make a fool of themselves and know that you are who you are.

On a side note, I'm not a big fan of consoles. I tend to like just 1 single game on them, so why waste the already nonexistent reserve cash I have on them?

PC Gaming isn't for everyone, it's less of a leisure activity like Xbox/PS3 and more like a hobby. Some of us enjoy maintaining our machines and fiddling with drivers and settings. Ask a console gamer about his gaming machine and he'll tell you what color it is and how many extra controllers he's purchased. Ask a PC gamer about his machine and he can tell you every detail about the pieces of hardware he has running in it, what voltage his GPU requires, and what driver revisions he's running. We're invested in our machines as much as we are into our games.

No idea why you would be embarrassed to be considered a PC gamer compared to a "regular" gamer.

It IS the other way around - The better question is, where are these people, because youve been in some bad communities if thats all youve been able to find.

In any case, im a PC gamer who owns a console.
And the reason Macs are virtually shunned is because, well, go to any games forum and type "Issues on Mac" and read the denizens of posts. Its just considered an annoyance.

I never understood PC elitists, it's not like building your own rig is hard or anything, all it takes is money.
And a matter of research - Mine costed $510 USD, and its capable of running anything, with no issues whatsoever. Its HDD is only 350GB, but besides that, its on par with the above average Rig.

no it's just the mac thing

I have about 700 in mine and can play any game on the market right now at full settings. We typically shun the idiots who spend 1400 on some piece of shit alienware or Mac.
