Immortality. Anything beats total nothingness. And I can keep myself entertained if the world does end, and maybe I could find out once and for all if life exists in places other than Earth. It would be nice if I could believe their is a heaven. And EVEN IF their is, humans would definitely be excluded, no matter how noble. Our very way of life is built own destroying natures equilibrium, no God would shine their light upon the human race, not a single man, woman or child would get campassion. In essence, humans are the embodiment of sin. Animals do only what they must to survive. Humans reneged this lifestyle once the 1st settlement existed.

Their are no Gods, only Man... "A Rapture Reminder!~" (Hope that cheers people up if my post bummed them, I can be pretty emo about religion. Its weird, I'm such a happy person too...)

Immortality. Death holds much unknown, be it afterlife (good or bad) or just simple non-existance. Besides, if I am Immortal I no longer need to worry about staying alive, so I can explore the Universe until its collapse (if it happens), and if it does, there may be another universe following it. If not, I may be alone, but I will have done more than any other being, and so could spend the rest of eternity contemplating it.

Of course, being immortal I may live to see a time travel device, so at the end of the universe I can return to the beginning and live it all over again. Or perhaps there will be a way to jump between dimesions opening new doors of exploration. Or perhaps others may find their own immortality, be it the same way as me or a different way, so there would be other immortals such as myself.

Whilst we live and have no need to worry about how we will survive the future is a bright and glorious thing with endless promise and possibility. Sadly, if you aren't immortal the future brings more taxes and work...

well, except maybe the god who has mankind as favorites and put us in charge of the world and all creatures that live on it. shit, he must be a looney for that, id never trust humanity with such a thing.

personally, id choose "eternity". i could do the world more good by existing forever than i can by instantly curing cancer, no doubt. like, curing cancer in a few more years, maybe.

Death

I believe I'd go to heaven, and tonight I could just skip work, go hang out with the girl I like, and just spend the night with her.

Curing all cancers, I'd definitely get a statue made in my honor for that.

EDIT: It would have to be one like in Fable 2, where I'm posed in the middle of a pelvic thrust.

Couldn't agree with you more about the nature of man. And as one theologian to another I give you this - Emo should never be confused with emotion. Having a strong opinion or feelings about a subject, however dark, does not make one emo. It simply shows a strong emotional connection to the subject. Emo is self obsession, letting ones problems however small outweigh those of everything else. Having a logical point of view from experience will never make a person emo.

In all honesty, Death.

I chose Eternal Life, however, on the grounds that we might invent time travel, in which case I can avoid the end of the universe and just travel everywhere anywhere anytime and see everything in the universe throughout the history of time itself.

Y'know, like doctor who but without things interrupting me like enemies, and I live forever, rather than a good 900-1,000 like him

B: You become immortal, in the sense that you live forever, never die, and cannot be damaged or feel pain in anyway (enabling you to be able to survive in any environment such as space or the centre of a star). However, as you will truly live forever, if the universe were to ever be destroyed in some way, you would outlive it, so even if there would be nothing but darkness, you would still exist, alone.

Taking the implications of both choices into account, which would you choose?
[Edit: for clarity, you would stay the same 'age' as you are now]
So I can't feel emotional pain. What happens at that point? Do I become something other than human. It's not like I could understand what it is like to be them anymore, I have no way of relating to their mindset. Even better, if I don't need food(any environment, how about one without food) then I would be 100% self-sufficient. Humans would be exposed for what they really are, a plague. I would exterminate all of the leeches of the earth and live the rest of my life seeing everything I can, and learning all there is to know. This seems lonely, but I wouldn't be able to relate to that feeling. Picking immortality, by your definition, is simply to choose to stop being human in any way.

I'll take death, even if I did become some badass that killed everyone, it wouldn't register just how badass I am. It would just be logic.

I think that was rambling, but my choice remains solid. DEATH.

Death.

The thing with Immortality is that, even though you cant die you still age. Eventually you'll end up as a old shriveled version of yourself.

Thats why I prefer eternal youth rather than life.
I'm not sure, the fact that you are invulnerable implies that you regenerate in some way, or are trapped in a moment, much like a picture never ageing, never growing never altering.

As for whether i would choose eternal life or death, i'm not sure the death has its advantages, but i see several ways of no longer existing in a way with the eternal life thing.

If i choose eternal life i suppose that i could benefit all man kind in the studying of specific subject to better life.
Also i beleive that by the time came for the universe to collapse unpon it's self, i believe that i could have forseen it and some how placed myself in suspended animation (as i can't die) for the rest of eternity, this could be done possibly through some future invention (possibly my own) or finding some time distortion, such as is believe to be present in blackholes (some theories say).

I have one question however, how did i not get trapped in the destruction of the universe? how did i slip out of that reality and into another where there is no life, and if i could do that then i put it to you, that i'm either god or there will be a way for me to die (perhaps i'll invent the subtle knife and use it upon myself, lols)

I would have said immortality if it weren't for being alone if the universe is destroyed. I'd just be so bored.

Dying tomorrow is rather unappealing because there's still so much I have yet to do, but curing cancer does seem to make up for it.

But immortality, just fucking sucks. It always seems to reach the point they spend their infinite lives trying to die.

Your post made it blatently clear what we were supposed to choose. Anyway, death. Living forever would suck.

I see a problem with this train of thought, firstly you would have to feel an impulse of anger to kill all life and thus would not be able with you complete lack of feelings.
Also as for your decision to then go off and learn all there is to know, you may find yourself simply sitting there with a complete lack of interest as your require the emotional need to learn that you would have lost when you became immortal
