Infinite boredom seems a lot scarier to me than my ultimate, impending death. A heck of a lot scarier...Standby said:Exactly, once you get caught in its gravity you'll be stuck in a star for billions of years.AvsJoe said:Fair...SultanP said:Quote...AvsJoe said:

well, except maybe the god who has mankind as favorites and put us in charge of the world and all creatures that live on it. shit, he must be a looney for that, id never trust humanity with such a thing.Lucky|Gamer said:... no God would shine their light upon the human race...)
Couldn't agree with you more about the nature of man. And as one theologian to another I give you this - Emo should never be confused with emotion. Having a strong opinion or feelings about a subject, however dark, does not make one emo. It simply shows a strong emotional connection to the subject. Emo is self obsession, letting ones problems however small outweigh those of everything else. Having a logical point of view from experience will never make a person emo.Lucky|Gamer said:Immortality. Anything beats total nothingness. And I can keep myself entertained if the world does end, and maybe I could find out once and for all if life exists in places other than Earth. It would be nice if I could believe their is a heaven. And EVEN IF their is, humans would definitely be excluded, no matter how noble. Our very way of life is built own destroying natures equilibrium, no God would shine their light upon the human race, not a single man, woman or child would get campassion. In essence, humans are the embodiment of sin. Animals do only what they must to survive. Humans reneged this lifestyle once the 1st settlement existed.
Their are no Gods, only Man... "A Rapture Reminder!~" (Hope that cheers people up if my post bummed them, I can be pretty emo about religion. Its weird, I'm such a happy person too...)
So I can't feel emotional pain. What happens at that point? Do I become something other than human. It's not like I could understand what it is like to be them anymore, I have no way of relating to their mindset. Even better, if I don't need food(any environment, how about one without food) then I would be 100% self-sufficient. Humans would be exposed for what they really are, a plague. I would exterminate all of the leeches of the earth and live the rest of my life seeing everything I can, and learning all there is to know. This seems lonely, but I wouldn't be able to relate to that feeling. Picking immortality, by your definition, is simply to choose to stop being human in any way.Standby said:B: You become immortal, in the sense that you live forever, never die, and cannot be damaged or feel pain in anyway (enabling you to be able to survive in any environment such as space or the centre of a star). However, as you will truly live forever, if the universe were to ever be destroyed in some way, you would outlive it, so even if there would be nothing but darkness, you would still exist, alone.
Taking the implications of both choices into account, which would you choose?
[Edit: for clarity, you would stay the same 'age' as you are now]
I'm not sure, the fact that you are invulnerable implies that you regenerate in some way, or are trapped in a moment, much like a picture never ageing, never growing never altering.Armored Prayer said:Death.
The thing with Immortality is that, even though you cant die you still age. Eventually you'll end up as a old shriveled version of yourself.
Thats why I prefer eternal youth rather than life.
I see a problem with this train of thought, firstly you would have to feel an impulse of anger to kill all life and thus would not be able with you complete lack of feelings.jboking said:Humans would be exposed for what they really are, a plague.
