you should probably fix your spelling, and you wanting to "attempt murder on anyone who refers to it differently" doesnt fit very well to together with "i want to to know what other people call it".

on topic, i call it Modern Warfare 2. its easier, and it sits right on the tongue.

The idea is simple: they call it whatever they want to call it, and we call it whatever we want to call it. For example, Modern Warfare 2 isn't even a Call of Duty series game anymore; MW2 marks the creation of an entirely new franchise. But it may or may not be referred to as a Call of Duty.

Secondly, what if Infinity Ward's next game is completely unrelated from Modern Warfare or Call of Duty or whoever owns that name now? Not saying they will, just speculating the possibility.

Thirdly...you need to put more detail in a Thread-opening post, I'm sorry to say. "You all know what I'm talking about"? What about those of us that don't really know what you're talking about? Take the time you need to explain just what, exactly, you're aiming this thread for, for people that may not have your understanding. We aren't psychic, after all. Thanks.

Yet it IS part of the Call Of Duty series, IW changed it back.

Cod6 to my mates, Mw2 on forums. It actually does have Call Of Duty in the title though.

Modern Warfare was crap, the first two call of duty games were heaps better (especially in terms of multiplayer pubs). It feels like a massive step backwards, I struggle to understand why people are so keen to buy the same game again when it has a bigger number at the end :\

I'd imagine the full title will be Call of Duty: Modern Warfare too, and most people will call it Modern Warfare. I think COD6 will just sound too big for most people, and it's been come to known as Modern Warfare 2 for ages.

You might want to take a look at the posting guidelines. Good grammar, spelling, punctuation, syntax, lexis and capitalization is encouraged on The Escapist.
Saying things like "teh interwebz" without joking, or writing with no capital letters or proper punctuation makes you sound like an immature kid who doesn't care about his own language.
