I think that it's ridiculous that people are getting arsey over the name of this game.

Last official source I saw (to the best of my memory) stated that the game's full name was 'Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2' (which would in theory make it the sixth CoD game, WaW didn't have a 5 anywhere in it's title yet we still refer to it as CoD5).

As such, I personally believe that we can use the following titles and still know what game we are refering to:

Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty 6
Modern Warfare 2
CoD6
CoD MW2
MW2

Live and let live so we can focus our attention on more serious matters (like cancer or how to woo members of the opposite sex for the purpose of performing coitus).

Your attempt to be funny fails.Actually he's kind of right. I'll admit that capitalisation is important and I'm one of the biggest Grammar Nazis in the history of the Escapist, but I'd apply "raping the English language" to language a lot worse than that. Being above the common troll I'm not going to accuse you of trolling or flaming, but tutor you in the ways of Grammar Nazi-ing.

If the Gramoffender is only mildly misspelling something (ie A lack of capitalisation, maybe a few silly mistakes and some adverb abuse) then you really ought to be nice to them and thank your stars you're not dealing with some preposterous oaf that you might encounter later.

If however they respond violently, then proceed to inform them, without use of internet terms like "fail", that you meant no offense and that they should correct their speech so it's easier to read.

The next step in this spectrum is where most fall down - if by this point the offender is still just ranting at the Grammar Nazi, then do not attempt to continue. Your cause is lost, and you must sadly accept that. By responding you are merely prolonging an inherently useless argument. Just leave with dignity and try to find another lost soul who can be saved.


Damn I should genuinely write a guide for all this stuff.

i ussually say "Call f dutty: Modern Warfare 2" and then think DAMN I DID IT AGAIN, IT´S NOT CALL OF DUTY!!!

It's Call of Duty 6 as far as I'm concerned, but I call it Modern Warfare 2 to avoid arguments.

The ACTUAL title of the game is Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. (It says on the box)

COD6 for simplification.

I'll either say Modern Warfare 2 to those that know of the game, or Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 to those that need more reference. However, I object to people calling it Call of Duty 6 because it isn't. Just like World at War isn't Call of Duty 5. It came after 4, but didn't get numbered. It's just another spin-off like Big Red 1 and just as equally shitty.
