I was going to say nothing that's specific to the internet, and then the second poster posted a big ass picture of a pony.

Yeah, that annoys the shit out of me.

No worries, I took no offence. My search-fu is extremely weak and revealed only tangentially related topics.

My biggest internet peeve right now is this damn CAPTCHA nonsense the Escapist is encumbering us with.
Yeah, I was just worried that you would view it as a passive-agressive pass at the current thread.

I haven't seen this thread in months, and only twice or so total. People hate necro threads more than repeats, so it's fine.

As for the CAPTCHA, I kinda want to see it. I haven't had one yet, and probably never will.

1) Absurd accusations of trolling. There is a difference between feminism and trolling, for example.

2)"TL;DR". You are on a forum. There is literally nothing else for you to do here except read. And write. Preferably in that order.

3)Slurs. There are better ways of insulting people than targeting their race, gender, mental ability, &c. "Fuckwit", for example, is a good, non-oppressive way to suggest that someone's opinion is wrong, and that they are a bad person for holding that opinion.

Common in internet political debates and the like:
1: Willful Ignorance
"I am currently telling you off for liking something that I do not. It's not like I've actually seen what you're talking about, outside of the times it's been parodied or referenced in the media, and I refuse to watch it."
Willful ignorance, because Mike Judge already TOLD you it was stupid in his unfinished Aldous Huxley fan fiction movie, therefore it is.

2: Package Deal Philosophy
"I hear talk that you opposed the Brady bill, therefore I assume you want to solve all economic problems with Ayn Rand novels. Never mind that those two opinions can be completely unrelated to each other, from a logical perspective."
or
"I hear you want Universal Health care, so I assume you also want to take my guns away. Don't dispute me, I'm a political science major!"
Package Deals: Because Alter Net TOLD you that that all self described conservatives shared the EXACT same views.

3: McFarlane Humor
"Hey guys look, I just put a McCain/Palin pin on Adolf Hitler in photoshop! I'm so funny. If you don't think so then you probably just want to inter gay people."
or:
"Hey guys look, I just did a comic wherein Michael Moore is made to look gay. I'm so funny."
McFarlane Humor: Because if someone disagrees with you, just call them a dumb ass and compare them to the Nazis.

This applies to people of all political persuasions.
I personally want both higher taxes on the richest members of society, yet oppose gun control. I want Universal Health care, and I also oppose government control of the media beyond regulating neutrality. To some people these may sound like contradictions, but that's only if you can't think out of the box.

Pretty much all of them (don't really mind the bronies for now) plus 'other'.

Indeed, most of the longer posts are often the most interesting and contain some nice reasoning.
I do, however hate it when such posts are completely incoherent. It isn't that hard to reread your post and correct it.

Trolling mostly,as in people who just post thinking they know everything regarding the topic or just post stupid and useless comments.

Blatent spelling errors and abbreviations like "u" or missing out capital letters or punctuation... I don't mind the odd mistake but everyone online should be old enough to write a coherent sentence and it isn't that much effort to write in proper grammar.
I like your interpretation of the word "blatant" ;)

Ha!

(That'd just be classed as "the odd mistake" though, so it's all good)
Gotta love the irony there. That's almost as good as The Oatmeal's example:

I have weapons for Trolls, so my net annoyances would have to be rabid fanboys/girls for various things. People like that always take it too far. Especially the Console Wars, the Console VS PC Wars, the Genre Wars, the JRPG VS WRPG Wars, and so on. Pointless jibber-jabber all because the companies that produce their latest thing don't even care about them and NO ONE is ever satisfied, EVER.

Yeah, I agree. One thing I found particularly hilarious was all the 360 fans kicking and screaming about Portal 2's PS3 exclusive offer. The hypocrisy! Almost every exclusive so far has been for 360, but no-one ever cared.

Not that PS3 fans are any better. Endlessly going on about its technical superiority is all well and good, but its architecture is so bizarre that no-one can take advantage of its prowess unless they're going to code the game solely for the PS3.
