Seriously, though. Where I live, the majority's a mix of white and North-African people. There are a few other etnicities too, though.
My girlfriend's the same "colour" (I refuse to say "race") as I am, but I just kinda fell in love with her because of who she is, not because of the fact that she's white. >_>

Also, I don't think "European" should be in that list?

Hmm... actually, I think the women I generally tend to find the most attractive are half white, half something else. I guess the mix of familiar and exotic is what attracts me to them.

Out of the options on the poll, I'd say Hispanic. Actually, now that I think about it, that seems like it's kinda cheating. After all, Hispanic isn't actually a race and most Hispanic people are just half Native American and half Spaniard, race-wise (or Portuguese if they're from Brazil).

Well, with that in mind, if I had to pick which race I found most physically attractive out of everything else I guess I'd pick... Arab? Yeah, that sounds about right. So, West Asian? What does West Asian mean? Arab? Persian? Indian? Russian? All of the above? Those are all pretty near the top of the list, so I'll just say West Asian. Yay for decisions! I already checked Hispanic in the poll though. Ah well, that works too.

Well, my last girlfriend was Filipino.

I've come to find she's actually colored my preferences quite a bit (darker skin tone and darker, fairly straight hair...and low alto voice, B/C-cup, shorter than me, and I should really stop). Anyway, Pacific Islander or European would be my primary interest, East Asian very close behind.

...why are "white" and "European" separate, by the way? Is it because "white" tends to mean different things in different countries?

I don't think you could possibly top William Taft's description of them as his "little brown friends." At least he did seem to practice what he preached, unlike US involvement in the Philippines as a whole at the time, from what I understand.

As for the other...I can imagine. Might not be a coincidence that she was a lapsed Catholic, raised in the US (and Austria, a few years, from what she said), and fairly jaded anyway. And that we were friends a long time before trying dating (and friends afterwards until we kinda dropped contact).

Well, supposedly it's gotten better lately. Less diehard catholicism and more .... well less Catholicism. I'll let you know when I go in June for a working holiday ^_^

I don't really care about skin colour bujt I quite like the Filo skin complexion. I think it's just that I used to have overt Filo exposure as a kid, and all my cousins on my mother's side spoke tagalog when I don't speak a word of it ;.;

So they used to tease me all the time o.o Plus they were older than me <.< I guess my family turned me off Filo girls o.o

Now with reduced exposure I like them n.n

No, but I was half-raised with some (and heard Kurdish and Spanish almost as frequently as English, most days), until I was about 12 and able to get home on my own from middle school. Both my parents worked. We're still close friends with the family.

As for my parents...my mother's fifth generation Irish immigrant, my dad's a mishmash of European (mainly English, German, and Italian; when he was in the navy, he was apparently occasionally mistaken for Italian by actual Italians), but they're directly from Wisconsin and California, US.

Ahh, interesting patriarch n.n;; My grandmother (Mother's side) is the only *really* interesting one in the family, she was in the US Army during WW2 stationed in Manila ... After the US pulled out she and my grandfather took themselves up into the mountains to lay ambushes and my grandfather was a doctor so he used to patch up soldiers who would get injured.

Skin color, not really a big issue for me. Culture really is more important.
Most of the girls I run into are white though.

I'm a white man, mid twenties. I find white women with pale skin, red hair and short heart-shaped faces the most attractive, followed by white with other features. Rarely, I'm attracted to black women with small facial features, but beyond that I'm never (read: NEVER) attracted to anything I haven't mentioned so far.

I can provide absolutely no reason- I've got no hangups, no problem with people from other races as friends, co-workers and so on. I am just not attracted whatsoever to hispanic, asian or east-asian women.

Actually scratch that. I don't like small, skinny women. This is a common physical build for east-asian women, and it's naturally a massive turn off. There's one of them explained.

Ok, so I'm a black/asian girl (i look more black though), and the first thing id like to point out is that the only guys who think im pretty are black guys. I rarely see any races dating outside of their own race. first of all i think its not fair because i dont think ill find a black/asian guy (and i dont want to), and second of all, why? how many escapists out there like to date men/women from other races?

i've dated all kinds of women. Had plenty of fun with even more. I find though that each person has their own preference, in my case, i like asian girls of any type. My fiance is half mexican and half philipino, she knows how to play up either side when necessary. Perhaps that's something you could try. But as to why people tend not to date outside their own race, i guess i have to ask where you're from. Because i find that in the U.S. it's quite common to see interracial dating, except, of course, where black women are involved. It's just not something you see very often. I don't know why, but i always assumed it's because black girls don't like white boys lol.

"Fair" has to do with ethics. Dating has to do (initially) with sexual attraction.

Well, as I live in area where most people are white, most of the people I've found attractive had been white.

But I don't really have preference for it.

When it comes to black people, I find either very light brown, or very dark black skin-colour attractive, but I don't really care. Personality is much more important.

However, when it comes to dating someone from a different culture or ethnic background, even if the skin-colour is the same, it can be difficult, so I guess I'd prefer someone from a similar background.

I generally just date whoever is available. In Colorado, that usually comes down to white or Hispanic girls. And as a white dude, I'm not stranger to Hispanic girls. Hasn't ever worked out well with them, though.

Before I had experience with girls I was angry at interracial dating. It was an envious thing. Whether you like it or not there is ALWAYS a higher chance of a black guy going out with a white girl then the other way around. In my own funny little way it was like seeing all the white girls being taken by black guys. This is why white guys go out with Asian girls so often I guess. I suppose the Black girls and Asian guys are getting screwed on this deal huh?

ANYWAY I digress. I went out with an Asian girl for a little while. I would be willing to go out with any race really. I don't care anymore. At the moment I'm going out with a white girl.

I've come to the conclusion women don't like white guys that have jobs, aren't 'bad boys', have money, and are intelligent to talk to. Or at least in my area. Fucking Bogans.

Well, most people around here are either Pakeha (think 'white') or Maori (think 'black')... Maoris tend to have a massively different build to Pakehas and I don't find them very attractive. But I'm planning to move to Europe at some point (uberdeveloped societies ftw), so then obviously there's a much bigger range of people I'd find attractive.

Happens all the freaking time where I'm from. The most common is of course the old white guy/asian girl. But I've seen just about every combination under the sun and rarely meet anyone of my generation that has a problem with it. So far I've only dated caucasian girls, but I think this partly comes down to two reasons:
a) I have a thing for brunettes but don't really like dye jobs and
b) the part of Australia I live in is still mostly an anglo-celt bubble (thankfully I think this is starting to change and we're getting more culturally diverse as time goes by).

However, I think people have the right to date whoever they want to, and while in my experience the majority of people are attracted to members of their own race, we're all humans. Who cares what part of the world they trace their heritage back to or what colour their skin is? At the risk of sounding more cliche'd than a saturday morning cartoon, love's all that matters.
