So the only reason we can own one is because they make us feel cool or we just happened to get it? I refuse to answer that poll.

Apple makes good stuff. I can speak to the Macbook more than the iproducts, but the point is that Apple makes quality products. More often than not, Apple products are worth the extra price.
Not at all, I was denoting saracsm, and never buying one, and having the views of Apple that I do, I don't know why someone would want one, that's all. I will add another option. Also, I was not putting into question their quality or reliability.
Okay. In hindsight, I may have jumped a bit at that, and for that I apologize. I own a Macbook, and I know far too many people that give me crap for it for reasons that are beyond ignorant. I deal with stuff like that a lot, so I kind of overreacted a bit at a question that was asked a lot more fairly. My bad.

I hate Apple, personally. And I'm more than happy with my Creative Zii. It's got everything the iPod Touch has, 32 gigs of memory, an SD card slot, two cameras, and HD screen, HDMI output, and a 24 core processor. And it runs Linux ^_^

My parents got me an ipod Nano for Christmas. Two years ago. It still works like new, I've dropped it multiple times without trouble, the batteries work, the controls work...

Yeah, I'm happy with my one and only foray into Appledom. Two years is a good long time, and for all I know, it's got anther two years or more left in it.

I don't get the hate. Ok, the attitude yes, but the products? Are generally pretty good, if priced higher than some would like to pay.

I have an iPod and a Mac but that's it.

I personally don't really like Mac products too much.

They're nice and shiny and all but other than that, they're no different than any other product.

Got a MacBook and love it. It is mostly a thing about it not running Windows. After a number of years running tech support for a family and for parts of my school, I consider the extra money a peace of mind tax. It has been worth it to keep my sanity in check. Two years and not a single problem. By this time with my last machine, I was on my second hardware upgrade and god only knows what number reformat. My only complaint is that I didn't upgrade the graphics card at the time I bought it and am now suffering since Steam has come out. Oh well.
Also, I have an iPod Touch. It is alright, but I got it heavily discounted with my computer. Call it a bonus to my peace of mind tax.

I refuse to use "i" products. They are overpriced as previously stated, I think they look ugly physically and in relation to the software/firmware and also I don't like the fact you use iTunes to copy to it. If I want to copy something across I will just click and drag/cut and paste.

Nope. Music plays fine on my blackberry, touchscreen technology doesnt seem to agree with me. Also, everyone I know who has an Iphone has a cracked screen, everyone who has Ipod headphones has had them replaced 5 or 6 times...

Apple products are also way too expensive.

I don't buy apple crap. Their are third party brands that are cheaper and better, iCrap is all overhyped. I'm not paying 3x as much for half as much functionality.

I don't have an iWhatever and don't plan to. Apple love pushing the "Throw the old version out and buy the new one" idea with their products.

I'll take a Microsoft POS over an Apple POS any day. I have an iPod that i got many years ago. I got it a bit wet, it died. My friend has a Zoon. He put the damn thing thru a washing machine ride and it still works! My PC can also play any game on the market today (that is until Crysis 2 is released). Can the high-end Macs? I think not! I guess that IProducts are OK. But in my experience they just don't do what i need them to do. And the price. I think Steve Jobs thinks his stuff is some pretty hot shit. Which it really isn't.

I started with a 8GB Nano then got it replaced because it was stolen. Once the touch came out, I got the 16GB and now I have a 8GB iPhone which I think is the best cell phone along with the Droid. I do have a Macbook Pro but it's not really an i-product.

Do you own any Apple (i)Products?

I have an iPod Nano 3G I got for my birthday several years ago that enjoys collecting dust and playing movies from my alarm clock each night. My phone replaced any need for an mp3 player. I highly dislike Apple and their overpriced "trendy" hardware.

Bought an iphone. Didn't like it and went back to my old brick w810i.

iPod Classic 5th gen (soon to be replaced - it lasted a long time and served me well)
and my computer is a Macbook Pro, which I love and runs just as well as the day I got it.

I've got a macbook pro and an ipod nano. I'm planning on getting an iPhone when my current contract expires.

Every Apple product I've ever owned has fit my purposes very well, and usually been better than competing products. While a mac is more expensive than building a custom Windows rig, I feel like OS X is well worth the extra couple hundred bucks, and the iPhone really isn't any more expensive than any competing products ? not to mention the much more expansive app library.

It's fine. It depends on what you use it for. There's a difference between having it to say you have it, as many do, and having it for a purpose or getting it as a gift. The MacBooks are a different discussion then the iFamily of Pod, Pad, and Phone. I'm trying to keep the thread away from turning into a Mac v. PC thread, but I think it may be inevitable. Also, it didn't let me add more voting options.
