The last option in the poll makes me laugh at the irony.

While I do agree that 256 players is pretty amazing for a mulitplayer shooter, at the end of the day, it pretty much means 255 assholes.
It's 256 for me.

256 or 2 million it doesn't matter to me in a shooter like that. You are put into a squad of 7 others and I don't have the memory to remember every GT I frag or get fragged by. So I feel like no matter how many are really there it is no different than a 16 player DM.

I honestly don't understand the appeal in MAG, there really were no "wow" moments while I played, there were hardly any good moments while I played it.

Maybe it's just me who thinks the game is total crap?

I don't own a PS3, but the concept of that massive of an Online Lobby is pretty cool and I wish they could do something similar for the Xbox.

I don't own a PS3. I wanted one for MAG, but £200 just for one game is very, very steep.

I may play it some day, but I really don't care all too much. The maps are reputedly ginormous, so you'd never really see all 256 people on screen at once.

Now, I just realized the cost of running a full 256-player game, total...
256x(1xPS3[300], 1x TV[300], 1x Internet[50?])= $192,000.

The maps are big enough so that you don't really notice. But when people gang up into a small area, they aren't messing around.

13 people.

Anyway, I don't own a PS3, but can tell you that MAG is not on my "Reasons to get a PS3" list.

This is at the top:

this might be an odd question but what the heck is MAG?
MAG is Massive Action Game. a game where you have battles from 64 players to 256 players all on the same battlefield at the same time. They are always objective games of two teams (Raven, Valor, SVER) fighting for control over vehicles, information or oil.

I don't own a PS3, but I do have Darkest of Days on 360. Like MAG, DoD took some heavy hits to the graphics to enable hundreds of onscreen enemies. I've beaten DoD three times, and I'm still amazed by those US civil war battles with over 100 soldiers on each side.
