If you make a personal commitment to not use those resurrection tubes or download the patch that disables them, and play the higher difficulty levels, and try to pick a fight with a big daddy, then yes.

Rapture may seem like a creepy place at first, but you learn to understand it pretty fast. Bioshock may be scary for a while, but moving on to the second one, it loses all it's scariness. I'd say they is not very scary.

there not scary but they are very good at creating tension. your walking around and you here a splicer laugh from around the corner you know he is there but you don't know where or when he is gonna pop out at you. i would recommend playing it with headphones

I can't stand horror games and I was able to play bioshock so u shud be grand :)
the first ten minutes are a lil scary cause u feel vunerable, but lik u get a weapon and stuff before anything actually attacks you so I felt grand then. There are a few startles, lik about halfway through the first one some splicers pretend to be dead and then jump up wen u come near, but its not scary.

There is one scary bit in the 2nd one,wen all the light turn out in a house(i cant stand darkness in video games) and u hav to make ur way out knowin that there are spider slicers lurkin around, but tats the only bit and i jus scouted ahead and killed them before they cud suprise me:)

Nah, not really. The first game is very atmospheric and a bit creepy, but it shouldn't scare you. There are a handful of very effective moments that are designed to make you jump, but that's about it.

The second game isn't scary at all, especially if you've already played the first one.

Now go play the first one. It's awesome.

The first Bioshock was creepy up until the first boss but nothing that would make you scream with terror. After that all the enemies seemed to just telegraph their attacks instead of jumping you so you would know where they were. Bioshock 2 isn't scary at all.

I haven't played 2, but 1 wasn't so much scary as um... atmospheric? ...immersive?

Oh, (off topic) the lack of subject-verb agreement in the title of the topic bothers me more than it probably should.

Nope. In both games you're a super powered human being shooting bees out of your hands. Destroying any feeling of danger or vulnerability.

well when i first played Bioshock1 i nearly crapped my pants during the medical area.

also, when you are walking down a dead silent corridor and all of a sudden you hear a somber voice singing "Jesus loves me this i know, for the bible tells me so." That freaked me out a lil bit because i could hear the splicer but could not see him.

I'm still playing the first one and the only part I found scary was the beginning because it wasn't what I was expecting. The way my friend described the game to me was completely different. Now I'm half way through it and I have super powers that nearly make me capable of doing anything.

In the second one you're in an iron suit, and little sisters provide you with delightful company through most of the game! Plus, the main villain is nowhere near as threatening. The entire atmosphere is pretty much shattered in the second installment. The first one is much better, and actually has some parts that may scare you.

Some parts in the first one spooked the crap out me, but that's because I am a wimp and I HATE dying in those types of games. I can play cod and die no problem, but I just never wanted to die playing Bioshock, felt like I ruined my experience if I did.So that adds a bit of fear for me because I didn't know what was coming. Bioshock 2 was barely scary because everything bad that was gonna happen you knew it was coming. Like you get loads of warning before a big sister comes and after a while they stop being a challenge, same thing goes for the defending sections. The first one was a whole new experience and I had no idea what I had gotten myself into so I was shitting it.

The first one can be scary in a way, but not enough to make you stop playing, I'd say. More a creepy atmosphere than anything.

The second one isn't, because hell, you're a big freakin' daddy. Even Ray Winstone is afraid of you.

I find that each had bits that were VERY scary, sudden shock style, but overall they only had a few jumps.
EDIT: Oh, and just noticed. Surely it should be ARE Bioshock 1 and 2 Scary? Or is my grammar horribly wrong?
