I enjoyed it quite a bit, and if you liked the first hour, that's a good sign. Is it the best FF game ever made? Not by a long shot. Is it still a fun game with an interesting cast and a memorable plot? Definitely! 
Just be prepared to have the theme song stuck in your head for weeks after you stop playing (this is not necessarily a good thing).
