i know FIM is currently hot on the net and it makes me wonder is it worth a watch. I am a guy but i also like cartoons and i am not sure if it is worth watching. I am not trying to be funny it is a legitimate question i would like to get an opinion from the people of the only forum i will listen to?

Short answer: Yes

Long answer: Yeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeees

Nah but seriously, It does have funny moments. The animation is good and it doesnt treat its viewers like most shows do.

Judging from how everybody and there brony seems to idolize it the way a hostage might idolize there captor I guess it would be worth watching. personally I've been watching the episodes. and I'm honestly bored. I know how it's all going to pan out due to it's incredible predictability. It's only really funny when I make fun of it. And maybe I haven't watched enough episodes but the characters just sort of do what there supposed to do rather than what a real character might do. Sure I'm putting alot on this show but grown people are watching this apparently so I'm holding it to the standards that would be suitable for a mature audience.
Holding it to the standard of what passes for a kids cartoon would be kinda insulting to some of the newer shows coming out these days but it would make this fair if not mediocre.
If your really jiving for a good kids cartoon to watch cartoon network has your fix personally these days I find gumball quite entertaining(though I keep missing episodes) but seeing as gumball isn't all over the ecapist you might as well watch a show and see for yourself.

The search function is also worth using.

The only way you will find out if you think it is worth seeing is to watch it and decide for yourself.

Watch it. At worst you waste half an hour of your life. At best you waste WEEKS of your life.

Wait...that seems kind of backward.

I can't believe it took a full 9 minutes for a link to this thread to be posted in the official FiM usergroup. We're slipping.

Oh, yeah, you asked the same question everyone else has been asking for months now. And you shall receive the same answer: We like it. We are probably in the same demographic as you. Take that for what it's worth.

Also, usergroup plug:http://www.escapistmagazine.com/groups/view/MLP-Friendship-is-Magic
All are welcome. Except trolls. Trolls will be loved and tolerated until their banishment from the group, and preferably to the moon.

Oh, hey look everyone, it's another one of "those" threads.

Depends, do you actually like the show or are you some needy social butterfly that is only viewing this over-popularized meme for attention? Your choice since most of this revolves around social effects.

Give a try. If you like it you like it, if you don't you don't. I think it's good and so do about 532 other people at the least. So it might entertain you a bit.

I would say not. It's nothing more than the internet's latest love affair. But the internet is a fickle thing, and it'll be something new in a couple months.

I guess another way of putting that is, if you want to invest however many hours of your life watching something just for it to go out of style a couple of months from now, then I guess that's your call. But sooner or later it's going to be like 80's fashion, something that seemed like a good idea at the time, even though it clearly wasn't.

Its a good show and I saw it because I loved The Powerpuff Girls as a kid. Something other children (The Worst Thing On The Planet) knew about me but no one beat me up for it was weird.

Note: I believe Kids are the worst humans on the planet

As opposed to something like 80s music, which is clearly the best music.
Have you actually watched any of it or are you repeating by rote what you've heard other people say about it?

Like Naruto and Bleach as they were mere Trite when compared to Cowboy Bebop or Ninja scrolls

Well, setting myself up for a flaming I think, but I've seen a few episodes and...I dunno. It's not magical for me. Just didn't really mesh with me. I don't want to see any more than I have seen.

Still, I would say give it a shot. You can't really determine whether you like something or not until you give it a try. This is the creed I try to live by anyway.

I REALLLLLY want to start watching it but I would like to watch it with friends so right now I've been planning for the past month to get several of my best friends together so we can watch the first episode and have a great time (possibly recording the results)
I just pray that you guys haven't overhyped this show.
but then again the only way it could match the hype this site has given it is to cure 5 major diseases, put Arrested Development back on the air and banish Micheal Bay into the darkest reachs of space to prevent him making any more movies.
Can you promise me the show is THAT good?
