So here it goes: Is george lucas dead to you?
To me, he died today. I know I will seem like a troll but whatever, the changes to the original SW aren't something I am ok with so yeah, to me, he died back then and now he is a clone controlled by Spielberg.
So tell me escapists...

I don't really care about him, or the expanded universe. The way I see it all force users ended with Luke Skywalker, thus bringing balance to the Force, so the canon stops there. the Prequels, meh, they'll do, but the real awesomeness was from KOTOR. Because Revan is awesome.

I never was much of a fan of Star Wars, but he has made a few too many 'revisions' over the numerous re-releases. I did read a bit into the Expanded Universe, and quite liked the Jedi Academy trilogy, but that's about it.

He was never alive. Lucas has always been a shitty director, it's only nostalgia that makes people think that he just now became one. They are films that went past their expiration date in about 1986.

Now lets forget about Star Wars before we hold the sci-fi genre back another 30 years, shall we?

He's so dead to me that he's come out the other side and become a zombie, a mere shadow of who he used to be.

We had everything fine before he decided to show up again. Stackpole, Zahn, and the other EU writers had it down.

Nope, Luke did not bring balance to the force, he destroyed the balance.

When Darth wiped out the Jedi they were left with 2 Sith, and 2 Jedi...balance. Ok, those two jedi were cowering uselessly in a corner, but balance was there.

When Luke became a Jedi Obi fell to Darth, once again Darth maintained the balance of the force.

As Leah began to become aware of her powers, Yodi fell, once again maintaining balance.

Then Luke confronting the Emperor lead to the Sith being eliminated, destroying balance and creating the imbalance in the force.
And when Luke and Leia die: 0 Sith abusing the Force, 0 Jedi to fall to the dark side. Balance.

If you enjoyed the original movies at all, do yourself a favor and read the Heir to the Empire series by Timothy Zahn. He's a great Sci-fi writer on his own, but that series was so well written and natural for the universe, you'd swear that it was the true episodes 7-9.

But yeah, fuck Lucas. Not only did his shitty movies introduce a few annoying inconsistencies in Zahn's books, his continued meddling with my memories of a fine piece of art is unforgivable. In fact, just a day before this hubbub about the "no" being added to the end of RotJ, I went and watched that scene and my eyes teared up. Just in that bit where Luke is hiding to the part where Vader throws the Emperor was more real and emotional than all of the prequel trilogy combined.

no he's still alive and ruining movies that he originally made well
This is the best answer to the OP's question. At least this gives something fanboys to talk about.

He isn't dead to me look at the "Red Tails" trailer it looks amazing I could care less about what he does to Star Wars because I can CHOOSE to watch and read what I want about the series.I don't think he can recreate the magic of American Graffiti or Star Wars now having to be called Star Wars IV A New Hope, I do believe he has begun to become a better producer which to me is good.

I really don't understand what the big deal is. You don't like his changes? Fine. Don't buy the Blu-Ray.

Problem solved, gg, surrender at 20, etc.

KOTOR is the Expanded Universe, so you must care about it at least a bit.

Did you insult Spielberg? He created multiple genre defining movies, and he also kept Lucas from destroying Indiana Jones earlier.
