Okay most PC gamers will know about the new Steam update and I was wondering if people thought it was bad?

I do because it caused me to have to uninstall it and the only way you can backup Steam games is through Steam grrrr. And its got slower.

So do you think its worse or better?

P.S I dint know where to put this so tell me if I am wrong.

EDIT: And know when I open it Steam fails and the shortcuts no longer work...Im so pissed off right now.

EDIT2: Okay now that I fixed the problem and it works well I have to admit it is cool but I still like the old Steam better.

I like the sleek new design of it, and I haven't really noticed any performance issues.

Overall, I am in favor of it.

Well, I've been on this version of steam since it's public beta, and hell, I like it actually.

Slower, really? If anything it has been drastically faster for me, also the new downloads tab is prettyfulls.

Pretty much think it's better to be honest

Wow, my experience is the exact opposite of yours. I love it. It runs noticably faster for me and the sleek new design was easy to get used to. Overall, I'm glad the new one came out simply because it is running faster than the old one did.

Also, you had to reinstall it? Weird, I just logged on one day and there it was ready to go... Strange.

I much prefer it, I switched back to the old one for the last free MW2 weekend during the beta and it was horrible.

This one is sleek and much easier to navigate. (It also goes better with my computers scheme than the ugly green did)

New Steam is excellent. I was hoping for such an overhaul for a long time.

It looks far better, however they've not addressed the disguisting update system, addressed the issue of disabled updates being renabled with every steam platform update etc.

So, yes, it is bad. Not worse than it was though.

I like it, I just wish I could make my own background images for my non-steam games in details mode..or allow more customization for it.

Wait, what? It's blatantly obvious. I mean, how could you possibly not notice that? It'd be like going to bed, and suddenly noticing the horse head that's been sitting there for a few days. Your poor observational skills are actually kind of impressive.

hmm I voted no but apparently counted it as a yes. I like it, don't know what your on about in regards to the only way to back up game files is through Steam itself because I had to reinstall steam to a new hard drive and my backups worked fine, and i didn't use steam to back them up.

The slowness I can't say I've really encountered. But overall yeah i like it.

Think it's okay. It crashed at one point but I was running two different emulators while trying to boot up TF2, so I think that was me overloading my computer rather than Steam itself.

Pretty sleek, I like the new design. The Community tab/news tabs load noticeably faster than before, the Games screen is prettier and better laid out and the Store is...well it's okay. I think I'd prefer the Spotlight and all the stuff down the right side moved to the left, but it's nice enough.

Easier to use, except that the 'servers' window now has no button on main window.
I really like the new downloads sub-tab, it provides a helluva lot of info.

As for the slowness, they really have cleaned that up. When I beta tested it I complained a lot to, but now it's released it's much better.

I had to because it had an error message and crashed every time I used it and the Steam help didnt work so I didnt know what to do.

My backups didnt work because apparently the only way for it to work is through Steam.

EDIT: oops double post.
