It runs a lot faster for me because the old version froze completely until it had downloaded the page you were on from the internet. My internet is slow, so this is a huge advantage for me.

I can't think why it would be running slowly for you; the program is exactly the same except that it looks better.

It's prettier that's for sure. Once I get a little bit more used to the new interface it'll probably end up just as good or better.

From what I've seen, it seems decent. However, I will be largely apathetic on the subject until Valve finally releases Linux support. Seriously, no love for us open-source geeks?

it is on its way...

Ironically, I learned by different means [http://www.phoronix.com/scan.php?page=news_item&px=ODIwNQ] shortly after I made that post. Now if you'll excuse me, I have to go sacrifice things to Gabe Newell(sp?) to express my thankfulness.

I havent used it for awhile. My computer is playing games with me and ironically not letting me play games. So I havent used it for awhile. And when i did use it i only really was on my game list. Much to the dismay of people who tried communitizing with me.

I like it myself. I just find it easier to use, I haven't noticed any significant slowdown, it doesn't crash like it did, and downloading is vastly improved. All in all, I am happy with the update.

Actually, one thing I totally love about it is that almost every game (provided it's a Steam game or bought on steam) has it's own unique background in the games tab. Very nice looking.
I agree with good Mr. Furburt here, I actually noticed better download speeds, and I love the backgrounds for each game, and now there's also a "Friends who also play [Insert game here]".

I like the new Steam, it's refreshing. :)

I like it, it's much prettier, so much so that I could almost turn it into a desktop.

Also, what, exactly, does voting in the poll mean? Am I saying "Yes, it's just you", or "Yes the new steam is bad"?

I only play with it once in a while, but so far my experience with it has been fine. I don't notice any issues, and it seems like it's actually running a bit smoother for me.

Don't like layout of the games list (the ones you've downloaded).. but that's just a small niggle.. it all seems to be pretty neat apart from that.

I've had more framerate issues in Team Fortress 2 and such lately.

And for some reason when I play offline with bots on CCS I get a ping of 116 or so. WHY DO I HAVE LAG OFFLINE?

it's a little confusing at first, but I got used to it. And I have had it run , faster, stronger, and better then it did before, so I'm not complaining.
