Poll: Is it only me or any superhero that wears his underwear over his tights looks retarded?

Considering Tom Welling in 'smallville' at some point i would like to see him in superman's outfit, but then again i thought 'wow that would look...at least weird..
So i just wanted to hear a couple of other oppinions on the subject.

Spandex and underwear in general is just a big NO. Well except on women which is technically sexist but who cares...
The type of armour I like is the Darkness armour although I also like the Sephiroth type.

Spiderman outfits is fine with me, i think it looks cool.

They get to wear leather jackets, trenchcoats, vests or whatever else they want (as long as it's battered).
