Edmonton, Canada has yet to see a layer of snow and has actually been warm over the past week (5-10 degrees Celsius). There's been frost almost every morning for a month. Halloween is usually a good time to expect snow on the ground.

I'm just not excited to walk to university in -30 Celsius and 3 feet of snow come December or January (maybe even November).

However, winter is my favourite time of the year because;

A) Hockey, the best sport known to mankind, is in full swing.
B) Girls turn into ski bunnies for some unknown reason (even when they're not skiing!)
C) I look good in a coat.
D) Beer is always chilled.
and E) It's not so damn hot out!
When winter ends, I always miss all the pockets in my coat for a few weeks.

*Looks across the sweltering hot tropical climate* Nope, no snow in Hawaii. *Looks across the ocean to the peak of Mauna Kea* Well, there's some snow up there... but it's always been there.

well it was a nice sunny day here today so i think winter is finally on the way out and we can have a nice hot summer with a zero chance of snow for the rest of the year i hate snow so i moved to a city where is practically never snows
though winter last year we got the first snow in almost 100 years it melted after 5 minutes

Not yet. It's Pittsburgh, and therefore often raining, and it IS getting cold, but no snow yet.

However, with a push from Canada's cold front...

Yes, it's still too warm for snow here. Our latitude is nice for it, but the ocean doesn't help and the jet stream doesn't help.

We mostly get our weather from the warm south-west. The arctic air from Alaska passes over us, travelling more-or-less diagonally toward the Midwest. Obviously this changes from time to time, or we get cold snaps and whatnot, but generally it doesn't snow that much here.

We've had a few instances over the past 10 years that have been somewhat notable for the area, but absolutely nothing like western New York.

As Taha mentioned, the fear isn't the snow, it's our level of preparedness. And by our I'm referring to the people and the government. It was poorly handled a few years ago and few of us forgot that whole debacle... although I had fun.

Still got around 7 Celcius outside in Stockholm, but it's starting to get cold. During the mornings I'm freezing my ass off, but the fuckers won't turn on the heating!

I can already feel the cold, but sadly, it never snows over here :(

But it did snow here 16 years ago and it was glorious :)

Im in the South Island of New Zealand, and its soon gonna be summer.

We'll probably get some snow pretty soon, knowing how our weather is now..

I'm quite close to the equator in my part of Brazil, and I love the snow here! No, wait, I meant to say we have no seasons here. It's 12 months of sun and it rains every now and then. Anything around 22C (71.6F, thanks, google) is considered cold.

We had a little snow yesterday, but it wasn't cold enough to stick. It was mostly melted by the time it hit the ground and it melted moments afterwards. I think that can be counted as snowfall at least. We'll get more in time. Other places have had enough to disrupt traffic.

Here in the Netherlands a chance of snow generally first appears in December, if we're lucky (or unlucky, if you want). There's been quite a bit of snow in the past years (for Dutch standards, which I admit aren't that high :D), but that usually starts late December.

No snow so far in Ireland (Thank God) But im not optimistic. We will probably be hit with snow around January.

I hate winter and I hate the snow, Though my hatred for snow is mostly the result of a crappy road service which more or less makes it impossible to leave rural roads and when you leave 8 miles from the closest village/town with any shops it does get quite annoying. Britian and Ireland are not equipt to deal with even a few inches of snow. Usually a 2 inch fall will leave the countries at a stand still. And only the likes of a motorway and a few roads ever see the gritters.

So hopefully we don't get any snow. I could live with that. At least I'll be able to drive to the nearest shop to buy milk if needs be.

I don't think we've even put central heating on yet, it's still quite mild in the UK although it is beginning to get a bit nippy. It's pretty rare that we get snow here, prime season seems to be December-February. I wish it snowed more often...then maybe our infrastructure could learn to cope with it.
Regardless of temperature, I don't really consider it winder until the Express starts going crazy about there not being enough grit. I have an almost grudging admiration for how they manage to turn it into a scare story. Seriously, it's made of sand and salt, two things we cannot possibly be short of on a bloody island!

Even so, I'll start putting the heating on soon - I'm utterly feeble in the mornings until I warm up, so most years I'll have the heating on for half hour in the morning for a month or so before it gets cold enough to justify it being on during the rest of the day.

Nahh not where I live in the south of England, we tend to get snow between start of January and end of February, we very rarely get it in December. Last year it snowed from about two separate weeks at the end of January start of February I think.

England just doesn't cope with snow, everything goes into like panic mode even though it's for like 2 weeks a year.

It's a shame 'cos I quite like snow, where I go in Scotland we've had snow for new years and even at the end of March.

Oh no.
We'll be lucky if we get any, and if we do, it will be in late January or Febuary.

Our winters were never particularly heavy, not relative to other places in the country, but climate change has really constricted our coldest months and thinking about it too much makes me depressed.

Yeah, it's really starting to come down around where I live. Of course, instead of frozen water, it's snowing the ashes of the millions of souls that are claimed each day by the raging hellfire that is otherwise known as the bush.

Because I live in fucking Australia.

Southern hemisphere is best hemisphere.
The fires in the Southern Highlands of NSW got to within 2 km of my parents' house... stayed that way for five days... and then it rained! Yay!

There will be no snow for me over the other side of country in WA. WA is going into summer soon, and I'm just preparing for the 40 degree (Celsius) days that are coming. I am going to melt.
