"War is a cowardly escape from the problems of peace"

- Thomas Mann
Playing Total War has shown me the truths of that statement.
I hear that. Damned Milanese always turn on me eventually!

Back on topic, I just can't see 'who' would fight 'who' in a "World War". The US military machine could bring any nation to its knees within a matter of weeks - any conflict thus has to be small scale.

The other thing to point out is that in the current era, high intensity warfare is just too expensive for even the US to maintain for long periods. Think, who can afford to lose aircraft carriers these days?

Sounds Fun... Let's do it. Crack out a few AK's each and go all out on Taking America Down.

I Love AK's.

Nothing like a war to spurn the reigns of economic growth.
also helps pretty much every other type of growth. It brings everyone together. or makes them huge red stains on the ground (either way you win when you look at some of the people inhabiting this planet :|)

"war solves all problems. No man - No problem" - Stalin. So many things he said made sense.

You can never *Win* a war on terrorists, it can't be dome, the only way to win that is to convince the terrorists that they are wrong, and that will never happen.
How bout killing all of them?
You can't eradicate a way of thinking. That's what the 'war against terror' is, not against an army, but against an ideology. As long as there are followers of that ideology, the 'war' won't be over.
And killing followers of an ideology is impossible because...?

It's never time for a World War, but if it's gonna happen, it's probably gonna be soon.

As long as nobody uses nukes on europe I couldn't care less since we Sweds are such wusses we would just go with whoever is a threat to us. as long as the dictatorships don't win it would most likely solve some of the tensions in the word (by blowing them up)

Sure, just blow that mosque in Jerusalem to hell, infact that's one of the most likely things that can cause WWIII apparently.

But I don't think I want a WWIII while I can get drafted into the army. Atleast not as infantry.

Yeah, let's just have a war for the sake of it. *sarcasm*
Exactly we all need a good war.
Who do you think you are, the American government?!

War on terror = the war on drugs. Both pointless and with no real target. I do wish tax money was put to better use *coughpayingteacherscough*
I wouldn't say the war on drugs is pointless. And yes I was trying to channel Bush back there.
Okay, maybe not "pointless", but any good they are trying to do, is gone about completely the wrong way. Probably not the bast likeness I could have made there, but that's still how I feel about it.

For the record, I did chuckle at your inner Bush showing it's face :p

As I sad, killing the followers won't stop the ideology, it even creates more followers because of martyrdom.

I think a little WWIII would do the world a bit of good. The best way to appreciate peace is through war.Plus it have the added effect of manning up the current generation of males.

Lets see the countries I've seen involved with war somehow are, The US, Canada, Britain, Russia (I dunno what that whole Georgia deal was but it was a military action) That one side of WW2 so look like we're already on our way. North Korea, China and Japan are just itching to get into some mischief too.
